Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) went off for a career-high 35 points to help lead a short-handed SNHU Men's Basketball team to a 101-81 win at Pace University on Saturday. Senior
Corry Long (Cincinnati, Ohio) added a career-best 25 points in the victory.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen fell behind 23-13 with just under 12 minutes to play in the first half before going on a 19-5 run, capped by the third of four first-half three pointers from Becht.
- SNHU led 42-37 at halftime - and added 59 second-half points on 15-of-26 shooting (57.7%).
- Breakfield's driving lay-up with 10:16 to play gave the Penmen a ten-point lead for the first time. He scored all 12 of his points in the second-half.
- Becht made all 10 of his second-half free throws over the final 7:34 as SNHU maintained a comfortable lead. He hit consecutive threes in the final 1:16 to get the Penmen to the century mark.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Becht recorded his second consecutive double-double for the Penmen.
- Long scored 15 of his 25 points in the second half.
- Junior Jackson Jordan (Potomac, Md.) followed up his career-best last Saturday with seven points, pulling down four rebounds.
- Freshman Brenden Choate (Nashua, N.H.) tallied a career-high six points, pulling down five rebounds. He played a season-high 21 minutes.
- With junior Ryan Layman (Wrentham, Mass.) in foul trouble - he fouled out with 5:48 to play - freshman Derrick Grant (Plainfield, N.J.) played the rest of the game and matched his career-high with eight points while adding three blocked shots.
- Both teams hit 27 field goals - SNHU was 27-for-53 (50.9%). The Penmen hit 34-of-40 free throws (85.0%) to 17-for-22 for Pace (77.3%).
- SNHU had a 38-29 advantage in rebounds.
NOTES
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Pace 20-12.
- SNHU has won three consecutive conference games to improve to 5-5 in the conference.
- The Penmen scored 100 points in a game for the first time under Head Coach Jack Perri, and for the first time since a 107-69 won over Concordia on 12/30/16.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen will host Southern Connecticut State (7:30 p.m.) on Monday, 1/31. It will be part of a Northeast-10 doubleheader with the SNHU women at the Stan Spirou Field House.
