MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire University men's hockey team is set to open the 2022-23 season. The Penmen will host Saint Anselm College in the Northeast-10 opener on Friday (10/27) at 7;30 p.m. at The Ice Den in Hooksett, N.H. SNHU will also travel to Framingham State on Saturday (10/28) to complete the first weekend of contests.
SNHU will be led by captains senior George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) and graduate student Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.). Thurston was named all-conference first-team last year after leading the Penmen with 21 goals and 12 assists (33 points). Mercer was all-conference second-team after compiling a 12-3 record and a 2.72 goals against average.
Head Coach Sean Walsh returns for a sixth season to lead the Penmen. The SNHU alum has been named NE10 Coach of the Year two of the last three full seasons, including 2021-22.
