Sophomore Deanne Wilson (No. Collins, N.Y.) collected a match-high 22 digs, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon at the Center for Recreation and Sport.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Southern New Hampshire held a 21-20 edge in the opening set when Adelphi scored four straight and five of the last seven to steal the frame and go up, 1-0, in the match.
  • Adelphi jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the middle set and never let SNHU get closer than eight in the stanza.
  • The final set was tied, 23-23, when a pair of Penmen attack errors ended it.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Set scores were 25-23, 25-14, 25-23.
  • Graduate student Alice Arletti (Modena, Italy) posted three kills, an ace, two blocks and five digs.
  • Sophomore Chiara Di Valerio (Terni, Italy) tallied nine digs.
  • Adelphi outhit SNHU in the final two sets, as well as .141-.074, overall.
  • The Panthers held advantages in both blocks (10-8) and aces (7-3).
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire has won six of its last nine, despite dropping three of four.
  • Adelphi leads the all-time series with the Penmen, 14-1, and has captured four straight.

  • The Penmen return to action Sunday (Oct. 30) at 1 p.m. when they take on Pace University.
