MANSFIELD, Mass. - Freshman Arianna Georgantas (W. Bridgewater, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team was selected as the NE10 Rookie of the Week for the period ending Oct. 30, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Georgantas scored the eventual game winner in the 40th minute to lift the Penmen over Bentley University, 2-1, Wednesday in the regular-season finale to earn SNHU an NE10 Championship berth.
The eighth-seeded Penmen were defeated, 3-0, by the top-seeded College of Saint Rose on Sunday in an NE10 Championship quarterfinal matchup and would need an at-large bid into the NCAA Championship to continue their season.
