KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire hit 8-of-10 to open an 18-9 lead at the first media timeout with Timberlake hitting her first three shots for seven points.
- Gordon hit her first career three-point field goal with three seconds left in the quarter for a 23-11 lead.Â
- The Penmen led 38-30 at halftime with Timberlake hitting for 15 points.Â
- The Panthers opened the second half on a 21-12 run to take a 51-50 lead with 2:02 to go in the third quarter, the first Adelphi lead of the night.Â
- SNHU answered with a bucket by Meghan Gordon and Jess Knight followed with an old-fashioned three point play to put the Penmen up 55-51 head to the final quarter.
- The Penmen hit 8-of-16 field goals in the fourth quarter, and all eight free throws, to hold the Panthers off. Knight scored 12 of her 15 in the final stanza.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Gordon recorded her first career double-double with career highs of eleven points and thirteen rebounds.
- Senior Ariana Koivisto (Pomfret, Conn.) pumped in nine points, and freshman Emily Greenwood (Manchester, N.H.) added a career-high six points.
- The Penmen finished 27-for-66 (40.9 %) for the game and Adelphi was 30-for-71 (42.3 %)
- SNHU hit 20-of-23 free throws (87.0%) while the Panthers finished 7-of-10 (70.0%) from the line.
- Southern New Hampshire had a 49-34 rebounding advantage for the contest.
- Adelphi's Ty'zhea Hawkins matched her career-high with 32 points.
NOTES
- SNHU trails in the all-time series with the Panthers 8-7 and Adelphi had won eight of the previous nine meetings with the Penmen.
- The teams will play meet again in conference play on Feb. 4 at Garden City, N.Y.
