Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) scored 17 points in 27 minutes off the bench, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team fell to Post University, 71-61, Saturday afternoon at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire led by three with a little over eight minutes remaining in the opening half when Post ripped off a 14-2 run to grab a 32-23 advantage with 3:20 left. SNHU responded with an 11-3 counter-run – led by five points from Okwuosa – to trim its halftime deficit to 35-34.
- After a layup from graduate student Ryan Layman (Wrentham, Mass.) gave the Penmen a 36-35 lead less than a minute into the second half, Post used a 20-6 rush to seize its largest lead of the afternoon at 55-42 with just under 10 minutes to go. SNHU later would score eight straight – all by Becht – to storm back within 58-56 with 5:30 on the clock. The Penmen would eventually close to within one on a Brathwaite triple that made it 62-61 with 4:03 to play, but Post would close the game on a 9-0 run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Junior Noah Kamba (Lynn, Mass.) tallied seven points (3-9 FG, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
- Sophomore Derrick Grant (Plainfield, N.J.) posted six points (3-5 FG) and four boards.
- Layman chipped in five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 FT) and three rebounds.
- Post outshot SNHU, 46.4 percent (26-56) to 43.4 percent (23-53), including 44.4 percent (8-18) to 40 percent (8-20) from beyond the arc.
- The Penmen shot it better from the stripe, 87.5 percent (7-8) to 78.6 percent (11-14).
- The Penmen won the glass (32-30) and the paint (28-24), and received more scoring from its bench (28-9), while the Eagles scored more points off turnovers (20-5) and on the fast break (9-5), and turned in a better assist-to-turnover ratio (15/7-9/13).

- Southern New Hampshire has dropped five of its last six, including three straight.
- SNHU now leads the all-time series with Post, 11-2
- Okwuosa narrowly had his eight-game, double-digit scoring streak snapped.
