SNHU extended its win streak to six games with a 71-65 win at Saint Thomas Aquinas in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon in Sparkill, N.Y. Senior
Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) led the Penmen with 22 points.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen had a slow start to the contest, missing the first 11 field goal attempts before Timberlake hit a three-pointer with 3:43 to play in the first quarter.
- From that point, SNHU outscored the Spartans 34-15 to take a 37-28 halftime lead.
- SNHU outrebounded STAC in the half 28-19, with 11 second-chance points.
- Timberlake hit a driving lay-up with 3:35 to play in the third quarter to give SNHU its largest lead at 49-34.
- STAC's Sarah Ericson hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to 58-55 with just over six minutes to play, and her lay-up and free throw made it 62-61 with 2:47 left.
- The Penmen responded with a three-pointer from Colby and hit enough free throws the rest of the way to secure the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SNHU narrowly outshot STAC, 37.5 percent (24-64) to 36.8 percent (25-68).
- The Spartans had a better game from three-point range, hitting 38.9 percent (7-18) compared to 24.1 percent (7-29) for the Penmen.
- The Penmen were plus-8 from the line, hitting 72.7 percent (16-22) to 66.7 percent (8-12)
- STAC ended up with a 44-42 rebounding advantage, including 25-14 in the second half. SNHU had a 13-7 advantage on second-chance points, a 4-0 block advantage, and a 5-1 edge on steals. The Penmen turned the ball over nine times and the Spartans 13.
NOTES
- The teams entered the contest tied for fifth in the East Region in the most recent D2SIDA poll.
- This was the first meeting between the schools since Dec. 11, 2010. SNHU leads the all-time series with the Spartans (3-1).
- STAC had a four-game win streak snapped in its previous contest on Dec. 19 vs. Bridgeport.
- The Penmen improved to 5-0 in road contests that have been completed this season.
- Knight's double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) gives her five in the last six games. She has scored in double figures in all ten games this season.
- Timberlake, who has scored 10 or more points in nine of ten contests this year, is in the midst of a six-game, double-digit scoring streak, during which, she is netting 18.7 ppg.
