Four From Women's Volleyball Collect CSC Academic All-District Nods

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Graduate student Alice Arletti (Modena, Italy), sophomore Carmen Bernardis (Trieste, Italy), senior Ainsley Knox (Houston, Texas) and graduate student Sara Montefameglio (Turin, Italy), all of the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team, were recently named to the Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.

Arletti was one of two Penmen to start 26 matches, playing in 94 sets, while amassing 193 kills (2.05 k/s), 24 aces (0.26 sa/s) and 88 blocks (0.94 b/s). She ranked fourth in the NE10 in hitting percentage (.365), sixth in blocks per set and eighth in total blocks. Arletti is pursuing her Master's degree in Business Analytics and has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

Bernardis was one of two Penmen to play in all 27 matches, posting 164 kills (2.00 k/s) and 54 blocks (0.66 b/s) over 82 sets. The business administration major with a concentration in entrepreneurship owns a perfect 4.0.

Knox started five of the 26 matches she played in, tallying 292 assists (4.17 a/s) and 84 digs (1.20 d/s) over 70 sets. She ranked 15th in the conference in assists and 16th in assists per set. Knox has a 3.95 GPA in mechanical engineering.

In 23 matches, including 22 starts, across 83 sets, Montefameglio totaled 744 assists (8.96 a/s), 38 aces (0.46 sa/s) and 221 digs (2.66 d/s). The NE10 All-Conference Third Team selected placed fifth in the NE10 in assists per set, and seventh in total assists and service aces per set. Montefameglio is pursuing her MBA with a concentration in marketing and owns a 3.96 GPA.

The Penmen (19-8) put together a historic season, setting a new program record for wins , winning its first NE10 postseason match, hosting an NE10 postseason match for the first time, receiving its first NCAA postseason berth, claiming its first NCAA postseason victory, capturing its first NCAA East Region title and advancing to the NCAA National Championships in Seattle for the first time.
