(Manchester, N.H.) -- Aaron Gray (Providence, RI) and Corry Long (Cincinnati, OH) each scored 25 points to lift the Southern New Hampshire men's basketball team to Monday night's 69-62 win over NE10 foe Adelphi University at the Stan Spirou Field House.

Key Moments
  • Adelphi led throughout the entire first half, scoring the game's first six points and leading by as many as 12 at 26-14 with 5:13 left in the half. The Panthers went into the break up 32-27 after a Ronnie Silva jumper at the buzzer.
  • Adelphi led 36-25 with 19:17 left in the second half after a pair of Adonis Williams free throws.
  • The Penmen responded by scoring the game's next 11 points to tie it a 36-36 at 16:16. The run included a Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) and Long 3-pointer and was captured off by five points in a row by Gray.
  • Trailing 40-39, SNHU went on another 8-0 run to take a 47-40 lead at 13:16 and take control of the contest. Adelphi would narrow the lead to three points on two occasions, but would get no closer.

Notes

  • SNHU's win over the Panthers was the first since a 97-95 win in the NE10 playoffs on Feb. 26, 2017. Adelphi would win the next three meetings between the two teams.
  • The Penmen improve to 8-1 at home, compared to just 4-8 on the road, 1-0 neutral.
  • SNHU moved into a tie for fourth place in the northeast division of the NE10 with the win. The Penmen have also played two more games than the teams tied at second place in the division and are just two games out in the loss column.
 
What's Next
  • The Penmen will return to action at home on Saturday afternoon against Stonehill College. Tip-off is 3:30 p.m. at the Stan Spirou Field House. Fans attending will be required to wear a face mask, regardless of vaccination status. The concession stand will be closed.
  • Saturday's game is senior day when the program will honor the accomplishments of its graduating seniors.
  • Saturday's game is also Ernie Greenberg Tribute, when the program will honor its long-time announcer, who passed away this off season.
