Jessica Knight (Hanover, Mass.) scored a career-high 18 points, but the top-seeded Southern New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to fourth-seeded Southern Connecticut State in the quarterfinals of the NE10 championship on Monday night at the Stan Spirou Field House. The Penmen, who were ranked first in the most recent NCAA East regional poll, will await selection and seeding in the upcoming NCAA tournament.

KEY MOMENTS
- Leading 7-5 early in the first quarter, SCSU scored the next 9 points to take a 16-5 lead with 4:01 remaining in the quarter and went into the break, up 19-9
- SNHU chipped away in the second quarter getting to within three twice in the half at (26-23 and 29-26). SCSU scored a hit at the buzzer to go into the half up 31-26.
- The Owls led throughout the third quarter and stretched the lead to 12 at 53-41 at 7:53 left in the fourth quarter.
- The Penmen rallied with 11-straight points to cut the lead 53-52 with 4:25. SCSU got the lead back to six at 58-52 at 3:18, but SNHU answered with back-to-back three-pointers by Timberlake and Ziliak to tie it at 58-58 with 2:21 remaining.
- Jessica Fressle hit a three-pointer with 1:23 left and the Owls were able to stretch the lead in the final minutes from the charity stripe to secure the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SCSU never trailed with only two ties (2-2 and 58-58).
- All seven players in the Penmen rotation factored in scoring, including three in double figures.
- SCSU held a 43-39 rebounding advantage.
- The Penmen shot 38.5% from the floor and 30.0% from 3PT, compared to just 37.7% from the floor and 30.8 from 3PT for the Owls.
- SNHU held its opponent to 50 points or less for the third time this season.
