(Winter Haven, Fla.) - Senior

Bella Dickinson (Scarborough, Maine) drove in three runs as SNHU finished a busy day in Winter Haven with a 5-4 win over Bloomfield College. The Penmen played three games on the day, and took a nationally-ranked team to the final out before falling 3-2 to Augustana (S.D.).
GAME 1: #7 Grand Valley State 9 SNHU 0
- The Penmen saw a three-game win streak snapped against one of the top teams in the country.
- SNHU was held hitless until the seventh inning, when both sophomore Shannon Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.) and sophomore Ari Ferrier (Middletown, Mass.) both singled.
- Freshman Gwyn Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) came on in relief for the Penmen, and allowed three runs over six innings.
- Genesis Eggart (4-0) pitched the two-hit shutout for the undefeated Lakers, striking out 13.
- The all-time series now stands at 2-2.
GAME 2: #8 Augustana 3, SNHU 2
- It was a heart-breaker for the Penmen, who took a 2-0 lead to the bottom of the seventh inning, only to have the Vikings walk off.
- SNHU scored its two runs in the top of the first inning. Sophomore Alyssa Dimauro (Chester, N.H.) reached on an error, and junior Bryn Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) followed with a single.
- Graduate student Chloe Griffin (Scarborough, Maine) reached on a fielders choice and Gifford followed with a single. An error by Augustana allowed both runs to score.
- In the circle, Griffin was one out away from the win, but a bases-loaded walk and a walk-off double gave Augustana the victory. The three runs she allowed were all unearned.
- Augustana has won the four meetings with SNHU.
GAME 3: SNHU 5, Bloomfield 4
- The Penmen and Bears were supposed to meet earlier in the week, but the game had to be dropped because of wet grounds.
- The schools agreed to meet in a rare third game of the day for each team.
- Dickinson singled in a pair of runs in a three-run first to put the Penmen up early.
- Mota, who went 3-for-3, singled in the third run.
- After Bloomfield tied the score, Dickinson delivered the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the fifth.
- Catcher Abi Gray (Litchfield, N.H.) drew a bases-loaded walk as the Penmen picked up an insurance run in the sixth for a 5-3 lead.
- In the circle, senior Jessica Johnston (Brussles, Ontario) allowed three runs in her three innings. Hammond (3-3) picked up the win with four innings of one-run ball.
- SNHU improved to 2-1 against Bloomfield.
NOTES:
- The Penmen improve to 4-2 in Winter Haven.
- Dickinson is now hitting .378 for the season (14 hits in 37 at bats) to lead all SNHU hitters.
- Griffin, still looking for her first winning decision, has been a little snake-bit. She has allowed just three earned runs on the season, and has a 1.54 ERA.
- SNHU did not record an extra-base hit in three games.
- Mota's three-hit game was the first multi-hit game of her career and she finished the day 4-for 6. Her season average is up to .364.
