Gennaro Marra (Derry, N.H.) keyed a strong Penmen defensive effort, but SNHU fell 10-7 to #5 Adelphi University Saturday at Penmen Stadium.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SNHU limited the Panthers to just two first-period goals, and none in the second quarter to take 4-2 halftime lead. Adelphi outscored the Penmen 8-3 in the second half.
- Isabella helped keep Adelphi offensive leader Joseph Duchnowski in check, holding him scoreless for the contest.
- Senior Owen McCuin (Hinesburg, Vt.) scored his first goal of the season, a man-down goal at 10:33 of the third quarter to give the Penmen a 5-3 lead.
- Adelphi would answer with three quick goals mid-way through the third period to take the lead to the fourth quarter at 6-5.
- The Penmen tied the game with 11:46 to play on a blast by senior Jeremy Handman (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) before the Panthers answered with four straight goals.
- Valentine completed his hat trick with 2:14 to play to make it 10-7, but the Penmen could not draw any closer.
NOTES
- Adelphi outshot SNHU 49-42, with the Penmen picking up 31 groundballs to 26 for the Panthers.
- The Penmen won 14 of the 21 faceoffs.
- Adelphi improved to 12-0 all-time against Southern New Hampshire in men's lacrosse. Last year, the teams met in the NE10 Quarterfinals, with Adelphi also winning by three goals (12-9).

- The Penmen return to action returns to action next Saturday at #1 Le Moyne College (2 p.m.). The next home game for the Penmen will be on Saturday, April 9 against American International College. That game is slated to start at 4 p.m.
