(Hooksett, N.H.) - Sophomore Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) scored four goals to lift the Southern New Hampshire men's lacrosse team to Tuesday's 15-7 win over the College of St. Rose at Penmen Stadium.

  • Junior Gennaro Marra (Derry, N.H.) – 18-23 on faceoffs, 15 ground balls
  • Senior Alex Sturgess (Derry, N.H.) – 9 saves, win
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Penmen jumped out to an early 2-0 lead over the first five minutes. The Eagles responded with five-straight goals to make it 5-2 with 1:09 left in the first quarter. SNHU responded with a Marra goal just six second later to make it 5-3 at the end of one.
  • In a low-scoring second period, the Eagles scored the next two goals to extend the lead to 7-3, before SNHU netted the final tally of the half to cut it to 7-4.
  • The Penmen seized control in the third period scoring all six goals in the frame. The dominated play and outshot the Eagles 21-3 in the quarter. SNHU had two man-up goals in the quarter as well to take a 10-7 into the break.
  • SNHU's defense continued to hold up allowing just one goal in the second half as they tacked on two goals themselves to close out the 12-8 win.
NOTES
  • SNHU took 52 shots to 21 for the Eagles.
  • SNHU has won four-in-a-row for the first time since April 2017.
  • The Penmen had a 39-20 advantage on ground balls and won 18-of-23 face-offs.  
  • The Penmen improved to 4-0 all-time against Post.
  • Terrones (25 goals) and Valentine (21 goals) led the Penmen in that category.  Terrones (33 points) is tied with Auger (31 points) for the team scoring lead.
UP NEXT
  • SNHU returns to action on Wednesday, April 20 (3:00 p.m.) when it travels to in-state rival Franklin Pierce. The Penmen will be home on Tuesday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. to play Bentley University. The Bentley game is the regular season finale and senior day for SNHU.
