Redshirt-junior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) tallied a double-double of 16 kills and 13 digs, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team returned from a 16-day layoff with a 3-2 loss to Bentley University on Tuesday evening in its NE10 opener at the Dana Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU led, 16-14, in the opening set when a 9-2 Bentley run flipped the hosts into the lead at 23-18. A 5-1 counter-run from the Penmen – bookended by Pimenta kills – trimmed the deficit to 24-23, but a Caitlin Wunder kill would win it for Bentley.
- Again, the Penmen would hold an 18-15 lead in the second set, but a 5-1 spurt put the Falcons in front, 20-19. The score was knotted, 21-21, when Bentley notched the final four points of the set to push the Penmen to the brink.
- Trailing 21-17 in the third, SNHU responded with an 8-3 push that featured a pair of Bernardis kills and gave the Penmen a 25-24 edge. Five ties and five lead changes ensued, with SNHU taking the last three points of the frame – highlighted by kills from Arletti and Wohlleber – to grab the marathon set and stay alive.
- The Penmen led, 22-20, in a back-and-forth fourth frame, with two kills from Arletti and a Pacini ace sending it to a deciding set.
- In the final stanza, Bentley jumped out to an 11-2 run and never looked back.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Set scores were 25-23, 25-21, 29-31, 20-25, 6-15.
- Bentley outhit SNHU in the first, second and fifth sets, as well as .218-.131, overall.
- SNHU owned advantages in blocks (10-6) and aces (11-8).

- Bentley has won 10 of the last 12 meetings, including three-in-a-row, and 12 straight at home dating back to the 2000 season.
