FLUSHING, N.Y. - Senior Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic), graduate Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) and freshman Alina Kupfer (Munich, Germany) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team all advanced in the singles bracket at the opening day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Regional Championship on Thursday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Rain throughout the day forced most of the action to be moved indoors, limiting the number of courts able to be used. Because of that, play is behind, with only one Penmen on the men's side able to compete. Graduate student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, Netherlands) defeated Assumption University's Alan Nguyen, 8-4, in the round of 128.
Full results for all of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis competitors are below. The action resumes Friday (Sept. 23).
