Andrea Berti scored just over five minutes before halftime and the goal stood up, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team suffered its first blemish of the season with a 1-0 loss to Post University on Wednesday afternoon at LaMoy Field.

  • With 5:28 on the clock before the break, Berti scored off an assist from Angel Morales to provide all of the game's offense.

  • Rivers stopped a pair of shots for the Penmen.
  • Post 'keeper David Mollenthiel thwarted all three Penmen bids that came his way.
  • The Penmen narrowly outshot the Eagles, 7-6, including 5-4 in the second stanza.

NOTES
  • The loss snaps a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) for the Penmen against the Eagles. SNHU, which falls to 9-2-1 all-time against Post, last dropped a decision to the Eagles on Sept. 5, 2013 (1-0). It is also the first loss at Post for SNHU.
  • Despite the defeat, Rivers has now made 12 saves on 13 opponent shot attempts this season – a .923 save percentage.
  • SNHU dips to 116-26-16 (.785) over its last 158 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season.

  • The Penmen return to action Saturday (Sept. 10) at 7 p.m. when they take on Adelphi University in their NE10 opener.
