Female Athlete of the Week: Anne Wiersma - Field Hockey - So., F
Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) scored three times during a 1-2 week for field hockey, finding the back of the net in each contest. She cut the deficit in half in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's eventual 2-1 loss at Saint Michael's College, put the Penmen on the board in the 40th minute of a 4-1 loss to fourth-ranked Saint Anselm College on Thursday and gave her team a 2-1 lead early in the 13th minute of Saturday's 5-2 victory at Mercy University.
Male Athlete of the Week: Jonathan Berling - Men's Tennis - Jr.
Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) went 5-1, including 3-0 at No. 1 singles, during a 3-0 week for men's tennis. Berling was a 6-3, 6-2 winner against Bentley University's Max Bonte on Wednesday, pulled out a 6-1, 6-7 (5-7), 10-4 victory over Eastern Nazarene College's Franco Milivinti on Thursday and cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win versus Post University's Gustavo Kerber on Sunday. Berling and Aron Ouwejan recorded a pair of wins at No. 2 doubles. They made quick work of Eastern Nazarene's Carlos Gallardo and Dmitrii Semenov, 6-1, and then doubled up Post's Josh Cronje and Kerber, 6-3.

- Women's soccer went 0-1-1 last, tying Franklin Pierce University, 1-1, Wednesday, before dropping a 1-0 decision to Adelphi University on Saturday.
- Sophomore Georgia Greene (Clifton Park, N.Y.) scored just 1:56 into the second half to tie the game with Franklin Pierce.
- Sophomore Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.) stopped 13 of the 15 shots she faced during an 0-1-1 week for the Penmen. Keith turned away six shots against the Ravens and then racked up seven stops versus the Panthers.

- Men's soccer, ranked 20th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll, was idle last week and is back in action Wednesday (7 p.m.) when it play host to Saint Michael's College.

Notes:
- Women's volleyball went 0-2 last week, suffering a pair of four-set losses at home to Bentley University (Tuesday) and the University of New Haven (Saturday).
- Redshirt-senior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) recorded 30 kills (3.75 k/s), two aces (0.25 sa/s), 11 digs (1.38 d/s) and four blocks (0.50 b/s). Pimenta racked up 18 kills against Bentley, before tallying 12 kills, seven digs and three blocks versus New Haven.
- Sophomore Ella Koelb (Auburn, N.H.) amassed 66 assists (8.25 a/s) and 21 digs (2.63 d/s), to go with eight kills (1.00 k/s). Koelb set a career high with 31 assists and 12 digs against the Falcons. She then established a new career best versus the Chargers with 35 assists, nine digs and five kills.
- Junior Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) collected 32 digs (4.00 d/s) and dished 11 assists (1.38 a/s). Wilson recorded 17 digs against Bentley, and then posted 15 digs and seven assists versus New Haven.

- Field hockey went 1-2Â last week, dropping matched on the road at Saint Michael's College (2-1) on Tuesday and No. 4 Saint Anselm College (4-1) on Thursday, before scoring a 5-2Â victory over Mercy University on Saturday.
- Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) scored three times during the week, finding the back of the net in each contest.
- Freshman Jade Hendriks (Huissen, Netherlands) notched a goal and an assist, with both coming in the win over Mercy.
- Junior Annemartine Christis (s'-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) collected two assists, both on goals against the Mavericks, including the eventual game winner late in the 24th minute.
- Senior Carley Lovejoy (Kennebunk, Maine), freshman Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) and senior Emma Thibodeau (Danvers, Mass.) also scored goals against Mercy.
- Sophomore Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) made 13 of the 21 saves she needed to.

- The women's and men's cross country teams raced Friday at Boston College's Battle In Beantown at Franklin Park, in a field comprised of Division I teams.
- The women finished 15th, with senior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) coming in as the top finisher for the Penmen in a time of 18:59.6.
- The men were 14th, with junior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) turning in the fastest time of the day for SNHU at 26:10.2.

- Women's tennis went 3-0 last week, earning NE10 victories at the University of New Haven (4-3) on Tuesday and Bentley University (6-1) on Thursday, before securing a non-conference victory at home against Post University (5-2) on Sunday.
- Sophomore Alina Kupfer (Baldham, Germany) went 5-1, including a perfect 3-0 at No. 1 singles. Kupfer defeated New Haven's Valentinna Ferrarini, 6-1, 6-4, made quick work of Bentley's Maria Mella, 6-0, 6-2, and capped the week with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Post's Annunciata De-Souza. Kupfer teamed with graduate student Verena Weindl (Munich, Germany) for a 6-3 win against Adriana Hiraldo and Mello (Bentley) at No. 1 doubles, and also blanked Megan Lombardt and De-Souza (Post), 6-0, at No. 1 doubles.

- Men's tennis went 3-0 lat week with a 6-1 win at Bentley University on Wednesday, followed by non-conference home victories versus Eatern Nazarene College (7-0) on Thursday and Post University (6-1) on Sunday.

- Men's golf finished in sixth place at its 14-team Penmen Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at Concord (N.H.) Country Club.
- Sophomore Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) tied for 15th with a 219 (75/68/76).
- Junior Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) and sophomore Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) turned in the two lowest scores for the Penmen, with a 71 and 72, repectively – both coming in Monday's second round.
