Female Athlete of the Week: Carly Schofield - Women's Soccer - So. - F
Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) found the back of the net twice in a 3-1 win at the University of New Haven for women's soccer. She scored the eventual game winner that made it 2-1 in the 18th minute and then added insurance in the 32nd. All six of her goals this season have come in the last four matches.

Male Athlete of the Week: Evan Rollins - Men's Golf - So.
Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) matched a single-round NE10 Championship record Tuesday with a 5-under 66 on the final day to finish the three-round tournament in fifth with a 1-over 214. Rollins improved each round, with his 66 coming in six strokes better than his second-round 72 Monday. Men's golf finished fourth at Twin Hills Country Club.


Women's Soccer (5-3-5, 2-2-4 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's soccer went 1-0-1 last week, drawing Southern Connecticut State University, 2-2, Wednesday, before defeating the University of New Haven, 3-1, Saturday.
- Graduate student Victoria Roulston (E. Falmouth, Mass.) scored a pair of goals against Southern Connecticut. Roulston put the Penmen on the board in the 12th minute and gave them a 2-1 lead in the 36th.
- Sophomore Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) found the back of the net twice at New Haven. She scored the eventual game winner that made it 2-1 in the 18th minute and then added insurance in the 32nd. All six of her goals this season have come in the last four matches.
- Sophomore Georgia Greene (Clifton Park, N.Y.) also scored against the Chargers, staking the Penmen to a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes in.
- Sophomore Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.) stopped 11 of the 14 shots she faced during the week. Keith racked up seven saves in the Southern Connecticut tie and then made four of five stops at New Haven.


Men's Soccer (7-3-3, 3-3-1 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's soccer went 1-1-0 last week, blanking the College of Saint Rose, 4-0, Tuesday, before suffering a 3-1 defeat at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday.
- Sophomore Iago Perez (Oleiros, Spain) scored two goals and added an assist in the victory over Saint Rose. Perez set the tone with his first goal just 2:33 into the contest and then sent the Penmen to the locker room with a 2-0 lead with another tally just 3:12 before the break. Perez set up the goal that capped the scoring in the 82nd minute.
- Graduate student Jose Saez (Murcia, Spain) scored a goal in each contest, while graduate student Rafa Escobedo (Santander, Spain) dished an assist in each match.
- Sophomore Tyler Kraft (Londonderry, N.H.) also found the back of the net against the Golden Knights.
- Junior Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) turned aside six of the nine shots that came his way during the week. He stopped the only shot he faced for the clean sheet against Saint Rose and then made five saves at SCSU. 


Women's Volleyball (9-8, 3-2 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's volleyball captured a pair of three-set victories this week against Assumption University (Tuesday) and Franklin Pierce University (Saturday).
- Graduate student Dai Thawnghmung (Lowell, Mass.) tallied 22 kills (3.67 k/s) on .340 hitting, while adding 15 digs (.250 d/s) and six blocks (1.0 b/s) during the week. Thawnghmung posted 11 kills, five blocks and digs against Assumption before coming up with another 11 kills (.429), nine digs and a block versus Franklin Pierce.
- Redshirt-senior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) totaled up 21 kills (3.50 k/s), four aces (0.67 sa/s), 17 digs (2.83 d/s) and three blocks (0.50 b/s). She had 11 kills, an ace, two blocks and 10 digs against the Greyhounds, and 10 kills, three aces, a block and seven digs versus the Ravens.
- Junior Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) collected 28 digs (4.67 d/s), 10 assists (1.67 a/s) and a pair of aces (0.33 sa/s). She tallied 16 digs, seven assists and an ace against Assumption and added 12 digs and three assists versus Franklin Pierce. Wilson was chosen as the NE10 Libero of the Week earlier Monday.
- Sophomore Ella Koelb (Auburn, N.H.) Ella Koelb racked up 61 assists (10.17 a/s), to go with six kills (1.00 k/s), three aces (0.50 sa/s), 13 digs (2.17 d/s) and four blocks (0.67 b/s). Koelb dished 27 assists and added a pair of aces and nine digs in the win over the Greyhounds, before handing out 34 helpers and filling the stat sheet with three kills, an ace, four blocks and four digs against the Ravens.


Field Hockey (8-7, 7-4 NE10)

Notes:
- Field hockey split a pair of contests last week, falling just short Wednesday in a 3-2 loss to first-place Assumption University and then recording a 5-0 victory against Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday.
- Junior Annemartine Christis (s'-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) scored three goals and dished an assist, including two goals in the SCSU win. She tied the Assumption match, 1-1, in the 34th minute, before having a hand in three straight goals against the Owls that took the Penmen lead from 1-0 to 4-0.
- Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Veldhoven, Netherlands) recorded a goal and two assists. She set up Christis' strike against the Greyhounds, collected another assist on the first goal of the game just 40 seconds in against Southern Connecticut and then scored herself to make it 3-0 in the 52nd minute.
- Freshman Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) found the back of the cage in each match. She tied the Assumption match, 2-2, in the 48th minute and capped the scoring against SCSU in the 58th.
- Junior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) also scored against the Owls, setting the tone just 40 seconds in.
- Sophomore Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) stopped five of the eight shots she faced during the week. She made one stop against Assumption and then made all four saves for the shutout of Southern Connecticut.


Cross Country

- The women's and men's cross country teams raced at the NE10 Championships on Sunday at Stanley Park.
- The women, the defending NE10 Champions, came in fourth place, with senior Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) setting a new person best on the 6K course, finishing fourth to claim NE10 All-Conference First Team honors in a time of 22:27.3
- Junior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) earned Second Team accolades with a 12th-place finish in a time of 25:56.9 on the 8K course.

- Men's ice hockey drops the puck on the 2023-24 season Saturday night (7:40 p.m.) when it plays host to Framingham State University at the Ice Den.

- Women's tennis went 1-1 in a pair of NE10 Championship matches last week. The second-seeded Penmen doubled-up the third-seeded University of New Haven, 4-2, Friday, but fell to top-seeded Adelphi University, 4-2, in the finals Saturday.
- Sophomore Alina Kupfer (Baldham, Germany), the NE10 Vern Cox Player of the Year, went 4-0, including 2-0 at No. 1 singles. Kupfer pushed SNHU out to a 2-0 lead against New Haven with a 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Valentinna Ferrarini and did the same versus Adelphi with a 6-3, 6-3 win against Sanne Selmer Gilje. Kupfer also teamed with graduate student Verena Weindl (Munich, Germany) for a pair of No. 1 doubles wins, including a 6-2 triumph against Ferrarini and Karim Carreras (New Haven), in addition to clinching the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Katarina Liedbeck and Roisin Boyd (Adelphi).
