Senior Claire Wohlleber (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) reached career highs in kills and blocks, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team posted a 3-1 victory against Saint Anselm College on Tuesday evening at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed, 13-9, in the opening set when it used a 10-1 burst – with a kill and ace from Thawnghmung, and a pair of kills from graduate student Alessandra Peli (Brescia, Italy) – to grab a 19-14 lead. Saint Anselm would not get closer than four the rest of the way.
- SNHU began the second set on a 9-3 run and later used a 7-1 stretch – capped by kills from Pimenta, Thawnghmung and Wohlleber – to open an 18-9 advantage. Six was as close as the Hawks would come, as SNHU took a 2-0 lead in the match.
- With the third frame tied, 7-7, Saint Anselm would score 14 of the next 21 points to take a 21-14 lead. SNHU would not draw closer than six for the remainder of the set.
- In the fourth set, the Penmen jumped out to a 6-1 advantage on six Saint Anselm errors. The margin was still five at 15-10 when three Thawnghmung kills, as well as two kills and an ace from Wohlleber, powered a 9-3 run that all but ended the match at 24-13.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Set scores were 25-19, 25-18, 18-25, 25-16.
- Peli posted six kills and three blocks.
- Junior Carmen Bernardis (Trieste, Italy) added six kills and five digs.
- Junior Chiara Di Valerio (Terni, Italy) chipped in four digs.
- SNHU outhit Saint Anselm in all but the third set, including .252-.165, overall.
- The Penmen held an 11-9 edge in blocks, while aces were tied, 6-6.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has won six of its last eight matches, including four of five.
- SNHU takes a 25-24 lead in the all-time series. Saint Anselm has won 10 of the last 16 meetings, but SNHU has also captured five of the last seven tilts dating back to 2021. The Penmen had dropped five of six at Saint Anselm prior to Tuesday's win.
- The Penmen record another point in the Queen City Cup standings and now lead, 10-6, in the battle for Manchester supremacy.
