Alex Rivera (Lowell, Mass.) added 12 and 11, respectively, after halftime, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team was victorious against cross-town rival Saint Anselm College, 83-72, Tuesday night at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire fell behind, 12-1, in the opening five minutes and trailed, 19-8, with under 11 minutes left in the first half when it scored 22 of the next 30 points to grab a 30-27 lead with 5:18 on the clock. Kamba led six scorers with eight points during the stretch, while Henderson added five. Five points from Kamba later in the stanza powered a 7-0 rush that capped the half with the Penmen in front, 40-32.
- Three points from junior Derrick Grant Jr. (Plainfield, N.J.) and three from Rivera gave SNHU its largest lead of the night at 46-32 just over a minute-and-a-half into the second stanza. The margin was still 14 at 57-43 when a 16-4 burst trimmed the Saint Anselm deficit to 61-59 at the midway point of the half. After the teams swapped 8-1 runs that left the Penmen with a 70-68 edge with just over four minutes to go, four straight from junior Paul Greene (Freeport, Bahamas) carried a 6-0 spurt that gave the visitors some breathing room at 76-68 with 2:33 remaining. SNHU would go 5-for-6 from the line over the final minute to seal the victory.

- Greene posted seven points (3-5 FG, 1-4 FT) and six rebounds.
- Grant registered six points (2-4 FG, 2-4 FT), six boards and a pair of blocks.
- Grad student Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) added six points (1-11 FG, 1-7 3-FG, 3-4 FT), four assists and three rebound.
- Junior Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Spring, Md.) recorded five points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3-FG) five rebounds and two assists.
- Southern New Hampshire outshot Saint Anselm, 42.5 percent (31-73) to 34.3 percent (24-70), including 37.5 percent (12-32) to 32.3 percent (10-31) from downtown. The Hawks were better at the line, 77.8 percent (14-18) to 60 percent (9-15).
- The Penmen won the glass (49-44) and the paint (32-16), scored more points off turnovers (12-7) and on the fast break (15-11), received more scoring from their bench (35-6), and turned in a better assist-to-turnover ratio (14/5-13/9). The Hawks scored more second chance points (14-10).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire is 3-1 for the second straight season.
- Saint Anselm leads the all-time series with SNHU, 41-36, having won 10 of the last 12 meetings, including eight of nine, but the Penmen have now captured two of the last three. The Penmen snap a three-game skid at Saint Anselm, winning there for the first time since Nov. 29, 2017 (86-85).
- Santos' double-double is the first of his career.
- SNHU earns a point in the Queen City Cup standings and now leads, 12-6, in the Battle for Manchester supremacy. The Penmen also collected a point for the women's basketball team's win over Saint Anselm earlier Tuesday. It marks the first time SNHU swept a basketball doubleheader at Saint Anselm since Jan. 11, 1988 – a run of 23 twin bills that the Hawks took at least one win from the Penmen.
