Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) notched 18 points to help lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team to a 72-69 non-conference win against Felician University on Saturday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Felician trailed by three just over three-and-a-half minutes into the contest when it reeled off a 14-4 run to open an 18-11 advantage with less than two minutes to play in the opening half. It would take an 18-13 lead into the second stanza.
- Southern New Hampshire dominated the second quarter, opening with 16 straight points, including the first 11 from Wager, over the initial 2:40 to grab a 29-18 lead. After Felician scored four-in-a-row, the Penmen ripped off nine straight, including the first five from Timberlake, and brought a 38-24 advantage into the break.
- Five points from Gordon helped power an 8-4 spurt that widened SNHU's margin to a game-high 18 at 46-28 just 2:17 into the second half, but a 14-1 blitz later in the quarter brought Felician within 51-46 with 2:42 remaining. The Penmen would hold a 56-51 edge after three.
- The gap would fluctuate between eight and two the rest of the way, with the Golden Falcons getting to within 70-68 with 27 seconds left. Spinks would sink a pair at the line with 17 seconds left to make it a four-point game. After Felician hit one of two at the other end to make it a one-possession contest, SNHU missed both free throws and the hosts had a chance to tie it, but did not get a shot off.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Senior Julia Colby (So. Paris, Maine) tallied seven points (2-11 FG, 1-5 3-FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and five assists.
- Graduate student Macy Spinks (Luton, United Kingdom) chipped in four points (1-2 FG, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and a pair of assists.
- Junior Sydnie DeVries (Monson, Mass.) added three points (1-4 FG, 1-2 FT), four boards and two steals.
- Felician outshot Southern New Hampshire, 47.4 percent (27-57) to 36.2 percent (25-69), while SNHU returned the favor from long range, 36 percent (9-25) to 16.7 percent (1-6). The Penmen were also better at the stripe 72.2 percent (13-18) to 70 percent (14-20).
- The Penmen scored more points off turnovers (36-20), received more scoring from their bench (20-13) and turned in a better assist-to-turnover ratio (13/19-15/26), while the Golden Falcons captured the glass (41-36) and the paint (46-28), and scored more second chance points (8-5) and on the fast break (11-10).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, receiving votes in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Coaches Poll, is 5-2 for the second straight season.
- SNHU improves to 11-1 all-time against Felician and has captured 10-in-a-row, including two straight on the road. The Golden Falcons won the only other meeting on their home court Jan. 29, 2000 (58-54).
- SNHU is now 48-17 (.738) since the start of the 2021-22 season, including 26-8 (.764) away from the Stan Spirou Field House.
- Gordon's double-double is her third of the season and the fifth of her career.
