Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Spring, Md.) poured in a game-high 21 points to lead five Penmen in double figures, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team won its seventh straight game with an 86-60 victory against American International College on Wednesday night at the Stan Spirou Field House.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire scored the first five points of the game and led, 8-2, a little less than six minutes in when American International ripped off a 19-4 run that gave the Yellow Jackets their largest lead of the contest at 21-12 with 8:20 to play in the first half. SNHU would later score seven straight to forge a 23-all tie with 3:45 left and then erased a five-point deficit by scoring the final eight points of the half to bring a 33-30 lead to the break. Brathwaite sparked the run with back-to-back 3-pointers.
- A Becht triple triggered a 7-0 rush to begin the second half and put the Penmen up 10 at 40-30 just over two-and-a-half minutes in, while a 14-2 blitz – with eight points from Kamba and six from Layman – later in the stanza increased the lead to 63-43 with 8:00 on the clock. An 11-2 run – kicked off with a Kamba trey – gave SNHU its largest lead of the night at 79-53 with 3:50 to go. Brathwaite netted five points during the stretch.

- Sophomore Ethan Okwuosa (No. Haven, Conn.) tallied five points (2-6 FG, 1-2 3-FG), six assists and a pair of rebounds.
- Sophomore Derrick Grant (Plainfield, N.J.) added two points (1-4 FG), three rebounds and two assists.
- Junior Preston Santos (Providence, R.I.) scored four points (2-4 FG) and dished an assist in four minutes off the bench.
- Fellow junior Collin MacAdams (Doylestown, Pa.) posted three points (1-3 FG, 1-1 FT), four boards and an assist in an efficient three minutes.
- Sophomore Brenden Choate (Nashua, N.H.) collected two assists, including one on a thunderous alley-oop to Santos, a rebound and an absolutely vicious rejection.
- Southern New Hampshire outshot American International, 53.8 percent (35-65) to 38.2 percent (21-55), including 54.2 percent (13-24) to 32.3 percent (10-31) from downtown.
- Both teams were perfect from the line in limited trips, with AIC going 8-for-8 and SNHU knocking down all three freebies.
- The Penmen captured the glass (38-25) and paint (32-18), scored more second chance points (12-7), received more scoring from their bench (23-18) and featured a more impressive assist-to-turnover ratio (22/9-13/11). The Yellow Jackets scored more points off turnovers (17-8) and on the fast break (13-7).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which is receiving votes in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II Coaches Poll, has won 14 of its last 18, 13 of its last 14 and seven-in-a-row.
- SNHU is locked in a two-way tie for first place in the NE10 standings with Bentley University, one game up on Saint Anselm College and two full games up on the University of New Haven.
- The 17 wins are the most in a single season during the Jack Perri era, surpassing the 16 victories during the 2019-20 season, and are the most since the Penmen won 21 games in 2016-17.
- SNHU, which leads the all-time series, 31-19, has won seven of the last nine meetings against the Yellow Jackets. The Penmen have also won four of the last five at home.
- Guillory has put together a six-game, double-digit scoring streak (15.2 ppg).
- Becht has scored in double figures in 21 of 24 games and has reached nine points in all but one contest this season.
- Okwuosa had his four-game, double-digit scoring streak halted.
