GAME 1:  SNHU 3-1

  • Molloy put together back-to-back singles with two outs in the top of the third inning, the game's first hits, but failed to score when Alex Burns grounded into a force play.
  • The Penmen loaded the bases in the fourth inning.  Junior Bella Dickinson (Scarborough, Maine) walked, sophomore Jordyn Resetar (Hanover, Pa.) singled, and freshman Abby Lineman (Doylestown, Pa) walked.  Sophomore Gwyn Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) drew a pinch-hit walk to make it 1-0.
  • SNHU extended the lead to 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Senior Bryn Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) singled, advanced to second on a groundout and to third on a flyout.  She scored on a wild pitch.
  • The Penmen tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when freshman Gianna La Spina (Bellmore, N.Y.) singled home Resetar, who had singled.
  • The Lions scored in the top of the seventh inning on a single by Steph Conrade.
  • Sophomore Hannah DeRock (Hunt, N.Y.) picked up the win with four scoreless innings in her Penmen debut.
  • Junior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) earned the save with three innings in relief, with three strikeouts.
GAME 2: MOLLOY 4-2

  • A tough three-error inning led to a pair of Molloy unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly and a passed ball to extend the lead to 4-1.
  • The Penmen loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the fifth inning, but only scored once.  Hagerty singled, junior Alyssa DiMauro (Scarborough, Maine) walked, and Dickinson singled.  One run was scored on a fielders choice by senior Abi Gray (Litchfield, N.H.) to make it 4-2.
  • Hammond started the second game, working the first three innings.  McKechnie pitched the final three frames for SNHU.
