Jordyn Resetar (Hanover, Pa.) had two hits in the nightcap, but SNHU softball dropped a doubleheader at East Stroudsburg University by identical 7-2 scores on Sunday.
GAME 1:Â

- The Penmen put together a couple of hits to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.Â
- Junior Bella Dickinson (Scarborough, Maine) singled, advancing to third on a wild pitch and a sacrifice by senior Bryn Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.). Â Â Gifford drove in the run with a double.
- East Stroudsburg scored three times on starter sophomore Gwyn Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) in the second inning, and added three more against reliever junior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) in the fifth to open a 7-1 lead.
- The Penmen were able to push a run across in the top of the seventh. Junior Ari Ferrier (Middleboro, Mass.) singled and scored on a series of wild pitches.
- Paige Zigmund struck out 11 in a complete-game effort to earn the win for the Warriors.
GAME 2:Â

- The Warriors took the control of the game with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Â
- A two-out double by freshman Gianna LaSpina (Bellmore, N.Y.) produced the first Penmen run in the top of the second inning to make it 5-1. Dimauro had singled ahead of LaSpina and scored on the play.
- The Penmen cut the lead to 5-2 in the top of the fourth inning. Resetar, Ferrier, and junior Alyssa DiMauro (Chester, N.H.) put together three singles for a run.
- Sophomore Hannah DeRock (Hunt, N.Y.) took the loss in the circle, allowing three runs in three innings. McKechnie finished up with three innings and two earned runs.
- Leigh Ann Jenkins tossed three scoreless frames in relief for the Warriors for the win.

NOTES
- The Penmen fall to 1-3 all-time against East Stroudsburg. The teams had last met in Myrtle Beach in 2018.Â
- LaSpina has taken over the team lead with a .316 batting average on six hits in 19 at-bats.
- The Penmen have hit six doubles and two triples, but are still looking for the first home run of the season.
- Riley Vicendese had a big day for East Stroudsburg, going 5-for-6 in the doubleheader and driving in three runs.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen are scheduled to play at the University of Bridgeport on Thursday, March 16.  That will open a stretch of eight games in four days, the final non-conference games of the season.
- The first home game for the Penmen is slated against The College of Saint Rose on Saturday, April 1.Â
