Auger Tallies Four Times But Men's Lacrosse Falls to #11 Saint Anselm

DePaul Makes 20 Saves for Penmen Tuesday

Senior Ryan Auger (Hampstead, N.H.) scored four goals but SNHU fell 13-5 at #11 Saint Anselm College on Tuesday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU trailed 3-0 before finally finding the net with 3:35 to play in the first period.
  • Junior Cam Cote (Saco, Maine) did a great job securing a ground ball, and passed to Valentine, who found Auger in front for the goal.
  • The Penmen did not score again until 3:58 remaining in the half with Auger finishing off a perfect pass from Pietz.  Cote caused the turnover and graduate student Alex Sturgess (Derry, N.H.) picked up the ground ball that led to the goal to make it 7-2 in favor of the Hawks.
  • Down 9-2 in the third quarter, Auger scored back-to-back goals seven seconds apart, one on a feed from Pietz and one off the face-off win by Marra.
  • Terrones scored with 1:11 to play to finish off the SNHU scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Freshman Dylan Quigley (East Longmeadow, Mass.) collected a career-high six ground balls.
  • Saint Anselm outshot SNHU 55-35 for the game with DePaul making 20 saves for the Penmen.
  • SNHU went 21-for-28 on clear attempts while the Hawks were 26-29.
  • Saint Anselm had a 46-41 advantage on ground balls.
  • The Hawks were 1-4 in man-up situations and the Penmen were 0-4.
NOTES
  • Saint Anselm holds a 25-12 series advantage over the Penmen including win in the last nine meetings.
  • The Hawks pick up two Queen City Cup points to take a 15-14 lead with the women's lacrosse teams meeting on Wednesday at Grappone Stadium.
  • Auger has now scored 31 goals and added 32 assists in the 17 games he has played for the Penmen.
  • DePaul's 20 saves were his most in a game since his first career start at Assumption March 31, 2021 (22 saves).
