Female Athlete of the Week: Megan Mollman - Women's Lacrosse - Fr., GKÂ
Megan Mollman (Chester, Md.) stopped 25 of the 46 shots she faced during a 1-1 week for women's lacrosse. In her first career start Tuesday, Mollman turned away 16 of 31 bids in a 15-12 loss against 14th-ranked Bentley University. She then made nine saves on 15 shots playing the opening half of a 15-11 win at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday.
Male Athlete of the Week: Jesse Den Hartog - Men's Tennis - Jr.
Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) went 6-0, including 3-0 splitting time between the top two singles flights, during a 3-0 week for men's tennis. Den Hartog rallied for a 4-6, 7-6 (7-1), 11-9 No. 1 singles victory against Yannick Heitzberg in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Assumption University, before recording an easier 6-3, 6-3 victory at the top flight Thursday against Joe Herin in another 5-2 triumph over Franklin Pierce University. Den Hartog moved to No. 2 for Saturday's 5-2 win at Post University, where he defeated Josh Cronje, 6-3, 6-0. In doubles play, Den Hartog teamed with sophomore Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) for a 6-1 win at the top flight against Assumption's Jakob Border and Heitzberg and then doubled up Franklin Pierce's Alejandro Ortiz and Paul McLellan, 6-3, at No. 2, before capping the week with another 6-1 victory at No. 2 over Post's Cooper Smith and Langenfeld.
Cheerleading
Notes:
- Cheer finished in third place in the Advanced All-Girl category among Division II schools at the 2023 NCA Championships in Daytona Beach on Friday. The Penmen finished third for a second consecutive season, and set a new program record for points. SNHU finished the routine as the only squad in the division without any deductions.
- The Penmen broke 90 on day two for the first time in program history, scoring a 92.16.

Notes:
- Softball went 4-2 last week with doubleheader sweep of the College of Saint Rose on Monday and then splits with Le Moyne College on Monday and Saint Anselm College on Saturday.
- Freshman Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.) hit .500 in four games, as she was 6-for-12 with a pair of walks and a run scored. She went 2-for-4 and scored a run in the 2-0, game-two victory against Saint Rose on Monday, following it up with a 2-for-3 performance in the 9-4 loss to Le Moyne in Tuesday's opener.
- Sophomore Jordyn Resetar (Hanover, Pa.) batted .375 (6-16) with a pair of walks, an RBI and a run scored, as she produced a .444 on-base percentage. She was 4-for-6 in the doubleheader with Le Moyne and went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 6-5 win against Saint Anselm in game two.
- Senior Abi Gray (Litchfield, N.H.) hit a massive two-out, three-run, walk-off homer in the win over Saint Anselm.
- Junior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) made five appearances, including three starts, and went 1-2 with a pair of saves and a 3.73 ERA. She struck out 22 over 20-and-two-thirds innings. She twirled a two-hit, complete-game shutout in the 1-0 win against Saint Rose in Monday's opener, striking out nine and walking just two over seven innings. She came back in game two to earn the save with three more scoreless frames, while giving up just one hit.
- Sophomore Gwyn Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) went 2-0 in three appearances, including one start, submitting an ERA of 2.40 over 11-and-two-thirds innings. She fired four shutout innings to earn the win in game two against Saint Rose and then allowed two unearned runs over five relief innings to collect the victory versus Saint Anselm.
- Sophomore Hannah DeRock (Hunt, N.Y.) went 1-0 with a 2.74 ERA, allowing three runs over seven-and-two-thirds innings in a pair of starts. She earned the win in Tuesday's 2-0 shutout of Le Moyne in game two with five-and-two-thirds scoreless frames.

- Baseball, receiving votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II Top 25 and the Collegiate Baseball Pre-Season NCAA Division II Poll, went 2-0 last week, with a doubleheader sweep of Assumption University on Saturday to extend its winning streak to eight games.
- Freshman Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) went 3-for-4 (.750) with a home run, five RBI and two runs scored in a 31-1 game-one triumph, slashing .750/1.500/2.250.
- Sophomore Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) was 5-for-8 with two RBI and three runs scored. He was 2-for-5 and with an RBI and two runs in the opener and followed it up by going 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a double in a 6-0 game-two win.
- Junior Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, N.Y.) went 5-for-8 (.625) with a home run, four RBI, four runs scored, a double and a walk, while slashing .667/1.125/1.788. Schwartz was a perfect 5-for-5 with the two extra-base hits, four RBI and three runs scored in game one. He then walked and scored a run in game two.
- Junior Cam Caraher (Plymouth, Mass.) went 3-for-6, with a pair of RBI, four runs scored and three walks. Caraher was 2-for-4 with a walk and scored twice in game one, and then was 1-for-2 with two, RBI, two runs, a home run and a pair of walks.
- Redshirt-junior Cristian Mercedes (Providence, R.I.) finished the doubleheader 4-for-8 with three RBI, four runs scored and a walk, including 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, a double and a walk in the opener.
- Sophomore Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) did not log an official at bat in game one, but knocked in three and scored twice. He was 2-for-4 in game two.
- Junior Mike La Rocca (Vero Beach, Fla.) was 3-for-8 with three runs scored, including 2-for-4 with three runs, a double and a walk in game one.
- Freshman Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) went 3-for-9 with three RBI, two runs scored and a walk. He knocked in a pair in the first game and was 2-for-4 with another RBI in game two.
- Junior Danniel Rivera (New Britain, Conn.) was 2-for-7 with three RBI, two runs scored and a trio of walks. He knocked in a pair in game one and finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and two walks in game two.
- Senior Jeffrey Praml (Bridgewater, N.J.) was the game one winner, allowing just one run on four hits, while punching out seven and not walking a batter, over seven innings.
- Graduate student Josh Roberge (Chelmsford, Mass.) fired a complete-game, one-hit shutout in game two, striking out a season-high 12 and walking just two over seven innings. He was selected as the NE10 Pitcher of the Week earlier Monday.

- Women's lacrosse, ranked 24th in the latest ILWomen/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Poll, split a pair of games last week. SNHU fell to 14th-ranked Bentley University, 15-12, Tuesday and then rebounded with a 15-11 victory at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday.
- Senior Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) totaled 10 points on eight goals and two assists, to go with four ground balls. Graziano scored four times and dished an assist, while scooping up three ground balls in the loss to Bentley. She again tallied four goals and a helper in the victory at Southern Connecticut, while collecting a ground ball.
- Senior Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored seven times, and tallied seven ground balls, three draw controls and four caused turnovers. Renaud found the back of the net four times against Bentley and three more times at Southern Connecticut.
- Junior Shelby Cole (Gilford, N.H.) also registered seven points on four goals and three assists, while collecting two ground balls, a draw control and three caused turnovers. She scored twice and dished a pair of helpers against the Falcons and then notched a pair of goals and an assist versus the Owls.
- Freshman Megan Mollman (Chester, Md.) stopped 25 of the 46 shots she faced during the week. In her first career start Tuesday, Mollman turned away 16 of 31 bids against Bentley. She then made nine saves on 15 shots playing the opening half of the win at Southern Connecticut. Junior Megan Petko (Monroe, N.Y.) turned away four of nine shots in the second half against the Owls.

- Men's Lacrosse, receiving votes in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA)/Dynamic Division II Coaches Poll, went 2-0 last week with an 11-6 victory at home Wednesday against Assumption University and a 16-8 road triumph over American International College on Saturday.
- Senior Ryan Auger (Hampstead, N.H.) recorded 11 points on three goals and eight assists, while scooping up seven ground balls and causing three turnovers. He notched two goals and two assists against Assumption, and then scored once and handed out four assists versus American Int'l. Auger was crowned the NE10 Player of the Week earlier Monday.
- Junior Cody Fleming (Plaistow, N.H.) scored a career-high four goals against the Greyhounds, while graduate student Chris Valentine (Derry, N.H.) matched a season high with four goals versus the Yellow Jackets.
- Senior Gennaro Marra (Hampstead, N.H.) went 32-for-49 on face-offs and racked up 21 ground balls, while handing out two assists. Marra was 11 of 21 on face-offs with both assists against Assumption and then went 20-for-27 against AIC.
- Junior Ronan DePaul (Elkton, Md.) stopped 26 of the 40 shots he faced. He made 13 saves on 19 shots against the 'Hounds, before turning away 13 of the 21 bids he saw versus the Jackets.
- Senior Ben Yanakakis (Ipswich, Mass.) was chosen as the NE10 Defensive Player of the Week earlier Monday after forcing three turnovers and picking up five ground balls.

- Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) scored a pair of wins, finishing first in the 800m in 2:20.10 and the 1500m in 4:38.67.
- Junior Tori Limone (Stoneham, Mass.) captured the javelin at 36.15m, her top throw in the event since 2021.

- Men's tennis went 3-0Â last week with a trio of 5-2Â road wins against Assumption University (Tuesday), Franklin Pierce University (Thursday) and Post University (Saturday).

- Men's golf played a dual-match with Saint Anselm College on Tuesday and finished in a 298-all tie at Candia Woods Golf Links.
- Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) finished second with a 73 – one stroke off the pace.
- Freshman Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and sophomore Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) both tied for third with a 74.
Completed Seasons
Women's Soccer (6-6-5, 3-4-5Â NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer finished 6-6-5, including 3-4-5 in the NE10, and earned the No. 8 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen traveled to the top-seeded College of Saint Rose for the quarterfinal round and suffered a 3-0 defeat.
- The Penmen did enough, however, to collect their eighth NCAA Championship berth, including fifth straight. SNHU collected the No. 7 seed and traveled to play second-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the opening round of the NCAA East Regional, absorbing a 3-1 loss.
-SNHU began the season 5-0-0 for the second straight campaign and just the third time since 1994.
- Junior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and graduate student Ai Inoue (Tokyo, Japan) were selected to the NE10 All-Conference Third Team, while freshman Georgia Greene (Clifton Park, N.Y.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Men's Soccer (8-6-4, 5-3-3Â NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer went 8-6-4, including 5-3-3 in NE10 play, earning the No. 4 seed and a quarterfinal home contest in the NE10 Championship. SNHU defeated the fifth-ranked College of Saint Rose in penalty kicks, but suffered loss at top-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the semifinal round.
- The Penmen put together a stretch in which they were unbeaten in seven of eight matches (4-1-3) from Sept. 17-Oct. 15.

Field Hockey (8-11, 7-6Â NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey finished the season 8-11, including 7-6 in NE10 play. The team won six of its final nine games to make a late playoff push and wound up securing the No. 8 seed for the NE10 Championship.
- The Penmen traveled across town to play top-seeded Saint Anselm College and actually grabbed a 1-0 lead, but the Hawks would tie it and then snap a 1-1 tie with just 1:36 on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) collected NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors for the second consecutive season, while freshmanÂ
Emma Peeters (Wageningen, The Netherlands) landed a spot on the Third Team. Peeters also received an All-Rookie Team nod and was joined by classmateÂ
Anne Wiersma (Velhoven, Netherlands).
Women's Volleyball (19-8, 9-3 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's volleyball put together a historic season, finishing 19-8 to set a new program record for wins that surpassed the 1986 squad. The Penmen qualified for the NE10 Championship for just the sixth time, won their first NE10 postseason match, hosted an NE10 postseason match for the first time, received their first NCAA postseason berth, claimed their first NCAA postseason victory, captured their first NCAA East Region title and advanced to the NCAA National Championships in Seattle for the first time, falling to top-seeded and nine-time NCAA National Champion Concordia University, St. Paul in an NCAA Championship quarterfinal match.
- Redshirt-junior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) earned NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors, while graduate student Sara Montefameglio (Turin, Italy) and sophomore Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) were recognized with Third Team nods.
Cross Country
Notes:
- Women's cross country turned its best season in program history, winning its first NE10 Championship and NCAA East Region titles, as part of a four-win campaign out of the seven meets they competed in. The squad made the NCAA National Championship for just the second time (2019) and finished 32nd at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash., while placing first among East Region teams.
- Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) claimed individual NE10 (21:26.7) and NCAA East Region (21:55.4) crowns, while finishing 88th, and first of the 23 runners from the East Region taking part in the race, at Nationals (21:57.0). Those three runs slot into the program record book as the third-, seventh- and eighth-fastest 6Ks.
- Corcoran was named the USTFCCCA East Region Athlete of the Year, as well as the NE10 Athlete of the Year, while head coach Rich Marcello was tabbed the USTFCCCA East Region Coach and NE10 Coach of the Year. Freshman Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) was selected as the NE10 Rookie of the Year.
- Corcoran was joined on the NE10 All-Conference First Team by juniors Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) and Hannah Bradbury (Seekonk, Mass.). Junior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) claimed a spot on the Second Team, with graduate student Rose Pitman (Sherill, N.Y.) and senior Sarah Zarakotas (Deerfield, N.H.) receiving Third Team accolades.
-Â The men captured one win, but finished in the top five four times this season. They were fourth at the NE10 Championships and fifth at the NCAA East Regionals to narrowly miss out on an NCAA National Championship berth.
- Graduate student Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) placed third at NE10s (25:03.1) and second at the NCAA East Regional (31:41.1) to qualify for Nationals as an individual. He finished in a time of 31:21.10 to place 108th. The mark set a new personal best for Logan by 20 seconds and was just four seconds shy of matching the school record. It stands as the third fastest 10k in school history. Logan was the first of 24 runners representing the East region to finish.
- Logan was chosen as an NE10 All-Conference First Team honoree, while freshman Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) and sophomore Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) were named to the Second Team.
Women's Basketball (22-8, 15-5 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's basketball crafted another terrific season, matching the program record for wins from 1989-90 by going 22-8, including 15-5 in league play. It marked the first time the program had ever posted back-to-back 20 win seasons after capturing 21 victories a year ago.
- The Penmen earned the No. 3 seed and a first-round bye in the NE10 Championship, where it advanced out of the quarterfinal round for the first time and eventually claimed a spot in the NE10 title game. SNHU hosted the NE10 final, but fell to Bentley University, 61-49.
-Southern New Hampshire received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship tournament – its fourth ever and second straight – earning the No. 2 seed. The team posted the program's first NCAA postseason victory before falling in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II East Regional.
- Senior Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) was crowned a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Honorable Mention. Timberlake was also a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-East Region First Team pick, the NE10 Player of the Year and an NE10 All-Conference First Teamer.
- Junior Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) was a D2CCA All-East Region Second Team selection and joined Timberlake on the NE10 First Team.
Men's Basketball (21-9, 16-4 NE10)
Notes:
- Men's basketball posted its best season since 2016-17, finishing 21-9, including 16-4 in conference play. The Penmen captured the NE10 Regular-Season Championship, earning the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye for the NE10 Championship. SNHU bowed out in the semifinal round, but claimed the program's first NCAA postseason berth and advanced to the NCAA Division II East Regional semifinal, as the No. 3 seed. It was the first regular-season title, 20-win season and NCAA postseason bid since 2016-17.
-The Penmen went 16-1 from Dec. 17-Feb. 26, including a 10-game winning streak
- Head coach Jack Perri was feted as both the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) East District Coach of the Year and NE10 Coach of the Year.
- Junior Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) was an NABC East All-District First Team, Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-East Region Second Team and NE10 All-Conference First Team selection.
- Sophomores Ethan Okwuosa (No. Haven, Conn.) and Evan Guillory (Springfield, Mo.) earned NE10 All-Conference Second and Third Team honors, respectively.
Men's Ice Hockey (10-17, 9-11 NE10)
Notes:
- Men's ice hockey finished 10-17, overall, including 9-11 in league play. The team ended the season winning five of its final eight.
- The Penmen earned the No. 4 seed and hosted an NE10 Championship first round contest, but had its season ended with a 3-1 loss to fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University.
- Senior George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) received NE10 All-Conference First Team honors for the second straight year after leading the team with 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points. Senior defenseman Tim Usalis (Danvers, Mass.) earned Second Team accolades, as he scored six goals and handed out eight assists for 14 points. Freshman Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ontario) collected an All-Rookie Nod. He finished with four goals and 13 assists (17 points) to rank third on the Penmen in scoring.Â
