Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) helped carry SNHU to a doubleheader sweep of Saint Michael's College Wednesday afternoon. The Penmen won the opener 9-2 and took the nightcap 3-1.

KEY MOMENTS -GAME 1
- The Penmen scored single runs in the first two innings on Garczynski hits.
- After the Purple Knights tied the score in the top of the third inning, the Penmen scored twice in the bottom of the inning.
- Junior Shannon Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.) was hit by pitch, sophomore Jordyn Resetar (Hanover, Pa.) doubled, and Ferrier's sacrifice fly proved to be the game-winner.
- The Penmen scored in the fourth on a Gifford fielder's choice, and added four more in the bottom of the sixth inning.
- Garczynski's fourth hit of the game, a single in the sixth, made it 8-2.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 1
- The Penmen had 10 hits and drew a season-high eight walks. Freshman Abby Lineman (Doylestown, Pa.) and Dickinson each drew three walks.
- Hammond retired 11 consecutive batters from the third through the sixth inning.
- Jenna Devens, who also started in the circle, had the only RBI in the game for the Purple Knights.
- SNHU's nine runs were the most in an NE10 game this season.
KEY MOMENTS -GAME 2
- The Penmen scored a run in the bottom of the first inning. Dickinson started the game with a double and scored on a single by Ferrier.
- Two more runs scored for SNHU in the fourth, one on a single by Dickinson and another came across on a bases-loaded walk to Ferrier.
- Saint Michael's threatened in the seventh, scoring a run on three hits to make it 3-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE – GAME 2
- DeRock retired 18 of the first 19 batters, with only Hannah Arruda reaching on an infield single in the third inning.
- After Angelica Johns doubled and scored on a single by Jenna Devens in the seventh, McKechnie came on to get the final three outs for the save.
- Dickinson and junior Alyssa DiMauro (Chester, N.H.) each had two hits and Ferrier had two RBI.
NOTES
- The Penmen have had the better of the series with the Purple Knights, extending the current win streak to 14 games. SNHU leads the all-time series 46-10.
- Hammond notched the first complete game of her career.
- The six inning start for DeRock was her longest outing of the season.

- SNHU will play NE10 doubleheaders at Assumption and AIC this weekend.
