MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was selected as the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 24, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
Den Hartog, who also received the honor last week, went 4-0 during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Den Hartog downed Saint Michael's College's Jack Li, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2 singles in Wednesday's 7-0 blanking and then defeated Casey Recci, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 2 singles in a 5-2 loss to Adelphi University on Friday. Den Hartog also teamed with junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) at No. 1 doubles for a 6-4 win against SMC's Julius van den Broek and Sergio Barroso, and a 6-3 victory against Adelphi's Recci and Marko Jovanovic.
Den Hartog and the Penmen return to action Wednesday (Sept. 27) at 3 p.m. when they take on Bentley University.
