Senior Julia Cavalcanti (Vineyard, Utah) registered a team-high 11 kills, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team was blanked by Assumption University, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Laska Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- The opening set was tied at 8-all when Assumption went on an 11-3 run to seize a 19-11 advantage. The Greyhounds eventually ended the frame with a 6-2 spurt to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Southern New Hampshire held a commanding 21-11 lead in the second stanza, but Assumption ripped off nine straight points as part of a 12-2 burst that tied the score at 23-23. SNHU led 24-23 and 25-24, but the Greyhounds answered both times and notched the final three points to go up, 2-0, in the match.
- The hosts jumped out to a 15-6 lead in the third and were ahead, 18-7, when the Penmen scored six of the next eight to climb within 20-13. Assumption responded by racking up five of the final six points to win the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

- Junior Caelan Cook (Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.) recorded five kills and three digs.
- Sophomore Elsa Gilmore (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) posted four kills and four digs.
- Sophomore Angela Mateos (Seville, Spain) tallied three kills, three blocks and three digs.
- Junior Ella Koelb (Auburn, N.H.) chipped in eight assists.
- Assumption outhit SNHU in each of the three sets, as well as .255-.132, overall.
- The Greyhounds owned a 12-3 advantage in aces and a 6-5 edge in blocks.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has dropped four of its last five.
- SNHU still leads the all-time series with Assumption, 23-18, and has won 12 of the last 16 meetings. The Greyhounds, which have now captured four of the last nine matches with the Penmen, including two straight. Assumption has also won three of the last five versus SNHU on its home court.
