Sophomore Elsa Gilmore (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) led a trio of Penmen in double figures with a career-high 13 kills to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory against Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday evening at the FPU Fieldhouse.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire led, 18-13, in the opening set when Franklin Pierce ripped off eight-in-a-row to go in front, 21-18. SNHU responded with five straight – powered by a pair of Gilmore kills – to go back on top, 23-21. The teams would then alternate the next four points, with a Cavalcanti kill putting the Penmen up, 1-0, in the match.
- SNHU again led by five, 19-14, in the second, but a 7-2 run from FPU knotted the set at 21-all. The Penmen were in front, 24-23, when a service error by the Ravens made it 2-0 in favor of the visitors.
- The third frame was even at 23, but back-to-back attack errors put Franklin Pierce on the board.
- SNHU jumped out to a 20-5 advantage in the fourth, as Gilmore and Cavalcanti submitted four and three kills, respectively. A 7-2 counter-run pulled the hosts within 10, but the Penmen responded with three of the next four, including a match-clinching kill from Gilmore.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Set scores were 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13.
- Senior Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) recorded five kills, two aces and 12 digs.
- Senior Eyleen Dias (Plymouth, Mass.) collected 12 digs and an ace.
- Junior Caelan Cook (Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.) posted four kills and a pair of blocks.
- Freshman Lailah Johnson (Senoia, Ga.) chipped in seven digs.
- Junior Laura Haas (Londonderry, N.H.) added a pair of aces and three digs
- SNHU outhit FPU in three of the four sets, as well as .224-.100, overall.
- Aces (8-8) and blocks (8-8) were both even.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire snaps a three-match losing skid.
- SNHU leads the all-time series, 31-29, with the teams splitting the most recent 16 meetings.

- The Penmen return to action Saturday, Oct. 26 in a tri-match at Bentley University. SNHU takes on Wilmington (Del.) University at 1 p.m., before battling the Falcons at 3 p.m.
