Sophomore Elsa Gilmore (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and senior Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) combined for 33 kills, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team ended its regular season with a 3-1 loss to Adelphi Univerisity on Friday night at the Center for Recreation and Sport.

KEY MOMENTS
- Adelphi led, 11-9, in the opening set when it scored 14 of the next 20 to go up, 1-0, in the match.
- Adelphi used a 6-1 spurt to go up, 22-15, in the second stanza, but a pair of Cavalcanti aces powered a 5-0 burst that pulled Southern New Hampshire within 22-20. the teams alternated the next four points before a Penmen service error allowed the hosts to go in front, 2-0.
- With the third set even at 27-all, Wilson rattled off back-to-back kills to put SNHU on the board.
- Adelphi held a 15-14 edge in the finale frame when it reeled off four-in-a-row to go up, 19-14, and the Penmen would not get closer than three the rest of the way.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Set scores were 25-15, 25-22, 27-29, 25-20.
- Sophomore Angela Mateos (Seville, Spain) recorded three kills, two blocks and two digs.
- Sophomore Jaelyn Miles (Manchester, N.H.) chipped in three kills and a pair of digs.
- Adelphi outhit SNHU in three of the four sets, as well as .325-.176, overall.
- The Panthers held advantages in aces (7-5) and blocks (7-4).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire had won four of its last six and finishes in a tie for sixth place in the NE10 standings with two more matches to be played around the league Saturday.
- Adelphi leads the all-time series, 18-2, though SNHU's two wins have come in the last nine meetings. The victory is Adelphi's fourth straight at home in the series.
