 KEY MOMENTS
  • Southern New Hampshire led by one a little more than eight minutes into the contest before Southern Connecticut used an 8-2 spurt to grab a 20-15 lead with 10:52 remaining in the opening half. It was a three-point game more than three minutes later when SCSU ripped off eight-in-a-row to build a 32-21 advantage with 6:58 left. The Owls would end the half on a 10-3 run to bring a 42-28 advantage into the locker room.
  • Southern Connecticut scored nine of the first 11 points of the second stanza to balloon its lead to 51-30 less than two minutes in. The Owls grabbed their largest lead of the contest to that point at 63-39 with 9:33 remaining, but the Penmen hit back with 12 straight, including the first eight from Grant, to slash their deficit to 63-51 with 7:47 on the clock. The hosts responded, however, by ripping off 16 straight to widen the gap to its largest of the night at 79-53 with 2:28 to play. SNHU would net the final six points of the game.

NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire's 1-3 start is its worst since it began the 2006-07 season 0-5.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with SCSU, 59-26, and had won seven of the last eight, including six straight, but sees the winning streak come to an end as the Owls avenge last season's 75-60 loss to the Penmen in the NE10 title game in Manchester. Southern Connecticut also vanquishes a two-game losing streak at home against SNHU, as it defends its home floor for the first time since Jan. 14, 2020 (77-76).
  • Grant's double-double is the third of his career.
  • Greene is averaging 13.5 rebounds per game through the first three contests of year.
