STANDOUT PERFORMERS
KEY MOMENTS
  • The game was stuck in a scoreless deadlock until the 67th minute when Herrmann slid a quick pass to the right of the box for Herrmann, who ripped a low shot past the diving goalkeeper and inside the left post to give Southern New Hampshire a 1-0 lead.
  • A red card in the 77th minute seemingly ended the chances of a response on the scoreboard for Saint Anselm, but the Hawks would find themselves with a 2-on-1 that was finished in front by Samuel Assantha with just 4:09 remaining.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Saint Anselm goalkeeper David Hood stopped 16 of 17 shots.
  • SNHU outshot Saint Anselm, 25-7, including 17-6 in shots on target.

NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked fifth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25, is unbeaten in 12 of its last 13 (10-1-2). SNHU, which clinched the NE10 regular season title with their victory over Bentley University on Oct. 26, will open the NE10 Championship as the top seed and has earned a quarterfinal bye. The Penmen will host the winner of fourth-seeded Adelphi University and fifth-seeded Bentley University in the semifinals Wednesday, Nov. 13 (7 p.m.).
  • Southern New Hampshire leads the all-time series with Saint Anselm, 34-9-7, and is unbeaten in 12 of the 14 meetings (10-1-3), though the tie snaps a two-game losing skid versus the Hawks, who have not lost to the Penmen since Oct. 27, 2021 (2-0) at Saint Anselm. SNHU is now 17-3-3 at home against Saint Anselm and is unbeaten in six of the last seven there (5-1-1).

UP NEXT
