Stephanie Davis (Windham, N.H.) recorded a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team saw Bloomfield College rally in the fourth quarter for a 62-57 victory Saturday evening in the Best Western Windjammer Tip-Off Classic at Saint Michael's College's Ross Sports Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire moved out to a 10-2 lead over the opening 3:21, led by five points from Davis. A pair of free throws from freshman Samantha Pfeil (Methuen, Mass.) sent the Penmen to the second quarter with a 19-7 advantage.
- A layup from sophomore Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.) with 6:03 to go in the half gave SNHU its largest lead of the contest at 23-9, but Bloomfield would end the stanza with a 12-3 blitz that slashed its deficit to 31-28.
- The Penmen would go up by as many as eight in the third quarter and brought a 43-38 advantage into the final frame.
- A Davis jumper just 23 seconds into the fourth pushed the Penmen lead to seven, but seven straight from the Bears evened the score at 45-all with 6:53 remaining. Bloomfield trailed, 52-49 with three minutes to go before a 10-0 rushed flipped it into the lead at 59-52 with 1:18 on the clock. SNHU would get as close as 61-57 with 17 seconds left.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pfeil posted seven points (2-2 FG, 1-1 3-FG, 2-2 FT) and seven rebounds.
- Winterburn registered six points (2-7 FG, 2-2 FT) and seven boards.
- Junior Matilde Baron (Vicenza, Italy) netted five points (1-3 FG, 3-3 FT) and grabbed five rebounds.
- Senior Sydnie DeVries (Monson, Mass.) tallied four points (2-5 FG), seven boards, three blocks and a pair of assists.
- Junior Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) corralled eight rebounds.
- Bloomfield narrowly outshot Southern New Hampshire, 32.9 percent (26-70) to 32.8 percent (20-61), including 26.7 percent (8-30) to 26.3 percent (5-19) from beyond the arc. The Penmen were also plus-10 at the line and shot it better, 92.3 percent (12-13) to 22.2 percent (2-9).
- The Penmen won the glass (55-43), while the Bears captured the paint (30-22), scored more points off turnovers (19-7), second chance points (15-5) and on the fast break (7-2), received more scoring from their bench (18-14) and submitted a better assist-to-turnover ratio (16/14-12/29).
NOTES
- SNHU had been 2-0 all-time against Bloomfield. This was the first meeting between the two teams since Nov. 9, 2018 – an 89-66 victory for the Penmen at home.
- SNHU is now 61-27 (.693) since the start of the 2021-22 season.
