Ray Daniels (Las Vegas, Nev.) exploded for a Penmen-career-high 28 points to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team to a 66-64 victory against Dominican (N.Y.) University on Saturday at the Hennessy Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- In a first half that featured five ties and eight lead changes, Southern New Hampshire used back-to-back 3-pointers from Harris and senior Kurtis Henderson (Brockton, Mass.) to grab the largest lead of the half at 23-18 with just under seven minutes to play. With the margin still five with under three minutes left, Dominican ripped off an 11-1 run to build its own five-point lead at 32-27 with 1:10 on the clock. Five straight, including a buzzer-beating triple from freshman Dante Green (Dix Hills, N.Y.), sent the game to the break tied, 32-32.
- The opening seven-plus minutes of the second half saw four ties and three lead changes before the Penmen seized a 49-45 lead with 11:05 remaining. A Daniels trey nearly two minutes later sparked a 5-0 run that gave SNHU the largest lead of the contest at 55-49 with 8:30 left. The Chargers used a 10-1 rush down the stretch to slide into the lead at 60-57 with 2:23 to play.
- They would still lead by three with 1:36 left when Daniels went on a personal 6-0 run to flip the Penmen back into the lead at 65-62 with 49 ticks remaining. It was a one-point game with less than a second left when Greene made one of two at the line and Henderson grabbed the offensive rebound to seal it.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Senior Paul Greene (Freeport, Bahamas), playing just 21 minutes due to foul trouble, was limited to seven points (3-7 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds and two steals.
- Senior Derrick Grant Jr. (Piscataway, N.J.) posted six points (2-5 FG, 1-2 3-FG, 1-3 FT) and six boards.
- Green netted five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 3-FG) in three minutes off the bench.
- Henderson added four points (1-6 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and three assists.
- Senior Brenden Choate (Nashua, N.H.) chipped in two points (1-3 FG) and four rebounds.
- Senior Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Springs, Md.) grabbed five rebounds.
- Dominican outshot Southern New Hampshire, 41.8 percent (23-55) to 39 percent (23-59), including a narrow 38.5 percent (5-13) to 38.1 percent (8-21) from distance. The Chargers also shot it better from the line, 61.9 percent (13-21) to 54.5 percent (12-22).
- The Penmen captured the glass (40-35) and scored more points off turnovers (14-11), while the Chargers won the paint (28-26), scored more second chance points (6-5), received more scoring from their bench (20-7) and submitted a better assist-to-turnover ratio (14/15-7/19).

- Southern New Hampshire has captured six of its last seven, including five straight.
- SNHU improves to 4-2 all-time against Dominican and has won four of the last five meetings. The Penmen have now won both meetings at Dominican.
- Greene had recorded eight straight double-doubles to open the season.
