Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) hit a layup with 4.2 seconds to play in overtime to lead the Penmen to a 59-57 win over Adelphi University at the Stan Spirou Field House on Saturday. With the win, SNHU moves into a three-way tie for first place in the NE10.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen shot just 3-for-9 in the first quarter and trailed 16-12 after the first ten minutes.
- Adelphi extended its lead to 24-14 with an 8-2 run to open the second quarter as Jenna Jordan connected on her fifth field goal with 5:30 to play in the half.
- Timberlake hit a pair of field goals to trim the lead to 24-18, but the Panthers finished strong to lead 29-19 at halftime.
- Adelphi still led the contest 43-34 after three quarters, but the Penmen scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter as Timberlake hit a layup and a pair of free throws and Wager hit a trey and a free throw.
- The Penmen drew even at 48-48 on a pair of Knight free throws with 3:45 left.
- Two free throws by Adelphi's Kaitlyn O'Connell gave the Panthers a 53-51 lead with 21 seconds remaining.
- Wager's lay-in with one second remaining tied the game, forcing overtime.
- Neither team led by more than two in the extra session. O'Connell hit a layup to put Adelphi up 57-55 with 1:41 left.
- Timberlake hit a pair of free throws with :39 left to again tie the contest, and after a miss by Adelphi, she hit a driving layup with 4.2 seconds left.
- The Panthers' final shot, a layup attempt by Isabella Asencio, fell short.

- The Penmen hit 16.7 percent (2-12) from three-point range while Adelphi was 18.8% (3-16).
- SNHU made 75.0% of its free throws (21-28) to 66.7% (12-18) for the Panthers.
- The Penmen narrowly captured the glass (45-43) while Adelphi had the advantage on points in the paint (34-32). SNHU had the advantage (12-4) on fast break points and (9-6) on second-chance points.

- SNHU has won 10 of its last 12 to move into first place in the NE10 with Assumption University and Bentley College.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Adelphi 10-8, extending a win streak over the Panthers to four games. The Penmen had won 59-47 on January 3 in Garden City, N.Y.
- SNHU is now 59-20 (.747) since the start of the 2021-22 season.
- This was the first overtime game of the season for the Penmen.
