SNHU Raises More Than $132,000 to Smash Penmen Days of Giving Goal

543 donors made gifts during the campaign

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University Department of Athletics raised more than $132,000 during Penmen Days of Giving 2024, which ran from Feb. 5-16.

The campaign, a joint effort with SNHU's Office of Institutional Advancement, saw 543 donors make gifts to reach 265 percent of the original $50,000 goal. The $132,724 raised sets a new Penmen Days of Giving record.

An incredibly generous gift of $80,000 from Ed Daniels to the women's track & field program carried the campaign well past its goal. Daniels, a long-time SNHU librarian and track & field assistant coach, presented the check at halftime of the women's basketball game against Adelphi University on Feb. 10.

The women's track & field program, on the strength of Daniels' gift, led the way with $80,975. Men's lacrosse ($10,000) and women's lacrosse ($8,400) rounded out the top three. Cheerleading owned the high mark in terms of donors with 110, with women's basketball (56), men's lacrosse (55) and softball (52) the next closest teams. Of the 17 programs, 11 met or exceeded their individual goals, with two of the other six reaching 80 percent.

Gifts toward each program ensure that SNHU student-athletes continue to have access to life-changing athletic experiences, top-of-the-line equipment, and meaningful academic and career development opportunities.

While the campaign is over, those wishing to support their favorite team(s) may still do so.
