Auger Scores Four Goals as Men's Lacrosse Tops AIC 11-8

Penmen Pick Up First NE10 Win Saturday

Graduate student Ryan Auger (Hampstead, N.H.) netted four goals and added a pair of assists to help Men's Lacrosse to its first NE10 win of the season, 11-8 over American International College on Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS
  • The Penmen scored the game's first three goals and never trailed.
  • Lynch opened the scoring at 10:38 of the first quarter, Auger added two in the first, and Terrones had the other goal as the Penmen opened a 4-1 lead.
  • Second-period goals by Lynch and sophomore John Serina (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) pushed the lead to 6-1.   SNHU led 7-2 at the half after Terrones tallied with 1:03 to play.
  • Each team scored three times in the third quarter – Auger scored twice – and the Penmen took a 10-5 lead to the fourth quarter.
  • The Yellow Jackets outscored the Penmen 3-1 in the fourth quarter, but could not get any closer than three goals in the second half.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Junior Tyler Goode led AIC with two goals and an assist.
  • The Penmen had a 53-23 shot advantage in the contest and a 46-25 edge on ground balls.
  • SNHU was nearly perfect on clears at 18-for-19 while AIC was 19-for-22.
  • The Penmen converted 2-of-5 man-up opportunities while the Yellow Jackets were 1-for-4.
  • AIC had 24 turnovers to 20 for SNHU
NOTES
  • The Penmen improve to 23-2 all-time against the Yellow Jackets with wins in the last 13 games dating back to 2011.
  • Auger leads the Penmen with 25 points (12 goals and 13 assists).  
  • Lynch has a team-leading 15 goals.
  • Marra, now the all-time leader in NE10 history, has 459 career ground balls.  He has won 98-136 (.721) of his face-offs in 2024, which ranks in the top two nationally.
