Men's Lacrosse Drops Tuesday Contest at Assumption 11-6

Senior Kyle Proulx (Londonderry, N.H.) collected a career-high seven ground balls and matched a career-best with three caused turnovers, but the Penmen fell 11-6 at Assumption University on Tuesday afternoon.

KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU scored the only goal of the first period at 10:01.  Krutz found senior Cody Fleming (Plaistow, N.H.) open for a clear shot and a 1-0 lead.
  • Antonetti raced from behind the Greyhound net off a pass from Auger to score at 12:26 of the second period putting the Penmen up two goals.
  • Assumption then pushed in front with three markers before halftime on goals by Ryan Healey, Brady McNulty, and Patrik McGrath.
  • The Greyhound extended the lead to 6-2 before Antonetti scored in a man-up situation with 2:14 left in the third quarter.
  • Senior Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) scored with 20 seconds left in the third to cut the deficit to 6-4.
  • Assumption scored twice in man-up situations early in the fourth quarter and was not headed the rest of the contest.
  • The Penmen added fourth-quarter goals six seconds apart by Krutz, and then off the faceoff by Marro to make it 9-6.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • SNHU had a 41-40 shot advantage.
  • Each team had 14 turnovers.
  • The Penmen were 23-for-25 on clear attempts and the Greyhounds were 25-for-26.
  • SNHU had a 27-for -22 ground ball advantage and won 11 of 18 faceoffs.
  • Assumption went 4-for-5 in extra man opportunities while the Penmen were 2-for-5.
  • The Penmen had a 53-23 shot advantage in the contest and a 46-25 edge on ground balls.
  • Winning netminder Colin Malone made 18 saves for the Greyhounds.
NOTES
  • The Penmen saw a three-game win streak against Assumption snapped.  SNHU leads the all-time series 26-13.
  • Auger leads the Penmen with 28 points (12 goals and 16 assists).  
  • The 23 clears by SNHU were a season-high.
