Men's Lacrosse Puts Away Saint Rose 12-9

Terrones and Lynch Combine for Seven Goals Friday

Senior Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) broke an 8-8 tie with a goal with two minutes to play in the third period as Men's Lacrosse defeated The College of Saint Rose 12-9 on Friday afternoon.  Terrones had three goals in the period, and freshman Ryan Lynch (Derry, N.H.) led the Penmen with four goals in the game.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Fleming scored twice in the first quarter as the Penmen raced out to a 4-0 lead.  Auger also scored and assisted on a goal by Antonetti.
  • Saint Rose scored four of the next five goals to cut the lead to 5-4 before Lynch found the net with 1:35 to play in the second quarter.
  • Goals by Lynch and Terrones early in the third quarter gave the Penmen an 8-5 lead.
  • The Golden Knights answered with three goals in 2:48 of the third to tie the contest 8-8.
  • Terrones twice in the last two minutes of the third quarter, including a man-up goal with 50 seconds left for a 10-8.
  • Lynch scored twice in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter and DePaul kept Saint Rose off the board until 20 seconds was remaining.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • SNHU had a 48-36 shot advantage.
  • Each team had 18 turnovers.
  • The Penmen were 23-for-27 on clear attempts and Saint Rose was 20-for-22.
  • SNHU had a 42-31 ground ball advantage and won 15 of the 25 face-offs.
  • The Penmen were 1-for-3 in man-up situations while Saint Rose was 0-for-2.
NOTES
  • The Penmen made it four straight over the Golden Knights and improved to 8-3 in the all-time series which dates back to 2012.
  • Ryan Auger leads the Penmen with 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists).  He has recorded at least two points in each of the eight games this season.
  • Lynch has 19 goals to lead SNHU.
