SNHU scored four times in the top of the first inning and went on to a 7-3 win over Molloy University to earn a split of Saturday's doubleheader in Melbourne, Fla. The Lions won the first game 4-1.

GAME 1: MOLLOY 4-1
- McKechnie held the Lions hitless into the sixth inning, but SNHU's five errors led to a loss.
- Molloy took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Chrissie Huhn, who had walked, scored on an error.
- The Penmen tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Lineman singled and freshman Grace Jenkins (Groton, Conn.) came on to run. Senior Shannon Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.) bunted her to second and DiMauro singled as Jenkins scored.
- Molloy broke the tie after picking a single by Katie Hand in the sixth inning. Another error led to two unearned runs.
- The Lions tacked on another run in the seventh.
NOTES:
- Only one of the runs was earned on McKechnie's record as her season ERA dropped to 2.23.
- DiMauro had two of SNHU's five hits for the game.
- The Penmen had a four-game win streak snapped in the opener.
GAME 2: SNHU 7-3
- The Penmen took a quick 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
- Junior Jordyn Resetar (Hanover, Pa.) had an RBI single, DiMauro knocked in a run with a groundout, and Bruggeman singled home two more runs.
- Senior Ari Ferrier (Middleboro, Mass.) reached on a throwing error allowing two more runs to score in the top of the third to give SNHU a 6-1 lead.
- Freshman Charlotte Donovan (Biddeford, Maine) hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
- Freitas (2-3) went the distance in the circle for the win.
NOTES:
- The Penmen have a 13-10 lead in the all-time series with Molloy. The teams split a doubleheader in No. Myrtle Beach, S.C. to open last season.
- SNHU won five of the last six games in Florida to finish the trip at 6-6.
- The team batting average is at .300 with 100 hits in 333 at-bats. The Penmen have hit nine home runs with Lineman (4) and Bruggeman (3) leading the way.
- Lineman had hits in both games to extend her hit streak to eight.
- Lineman, DiMauro, and Feldman have eight-game on-base streaks.
