GAME 1: SNHU 4-3 (8 inn.)
- Bruggeman drove in both the tying and winning runs for SNHU in the come-from-behind win.
- Queens had a 3-0 lead heading to the bottom of the fourth inning.
- Senior Shannon Gifford (Goffstown, N.H.) doubled and Resetar homered to make it 3-2.
- In the last of the sixth inning, Lineman walked and a sacrifice bunt by Gifford moved pinch-runner freshman Kennedy Craigue (Bow, N.H.) to second. Bruggmen singled to tie the game.
- Lineman again walked to start the bottom of the eighth and after another sacrifice by Gifford, Bruggeman singled home the winning run.
- McKechnie earned the win in relief of Donovan, who started in the circle.
GAME 2: SNHU 2-1
- The Penmen took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
- Feldman singled to start the game and Donovan bunted her to second. Lineman singled to drive in Feldman.
- Queens tied the game in the top of the third on an RBI single by Emma Zumpol.
- The game would remain tied until the bottom of the seventh inning. A two-out double by Donovan was followed by a single by Lineman to win the game.
- Freitas limited the Knights to just one run and Colbert finished up and earned the win.
NOTES:
- The Penmen are 5-1 in games played since Sunday with all five wins by one run.
- Colbert has earned wins in her last appearances and has not allowed a run this month (17.2 innings pitched).
- Resetar hit her first homer run of the season – and fifth of her career.
- The team batting average is .286 with four players over .300 – Feldman (.389), senior Ari Ferrier (Middleboro, Mass.) at .328, Lineman (.325), and Resetar (.305).
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Queens 5-1. That includes a doubleheader sweep at Queens last season in Flushing, N.Y.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen will head to Connecticut for a pair of NE10 doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday against Southern Connecticut State and New Haven.
- The next home games at the SNHU Softball Field will be next Wednesday, April 17 against Bentley University. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
