#14 Bentley Rallies Past Men's Lacrosse 19-15 as Lynch Scores Five

Auger, Terrones Each Score Four on Senior Day

Freshman Ryan Lynch (Derry, N.H.) scored a career-high five goals, but #14 Bentley rallied past Men's Lacrosse 19-15 on Senior Day at Ouellette Stadium Sunday.

  • Senior Jack Terrones (Anaheim, Calif.) – 4 goals, 1 assist
  • Graduate student Ryan Auger (Hampstead, N.H.) – 4 goals, 1 ground ball
  • Senior Kyle Proulx (Londonderry, N.H.) – 3 caused turnovers
  • Graduate student Cam Cote (Saco, Maine) – 2 ground balls, 2 caused turnovers
KEY MOMENTS
  • The Penmen carried the enthusiasm of a Senior Day ceremony to the highest-scoring quarter of the season.
  • SNHU led 10-4 after the first quarter.
  • Lynch scored first at 2:06 off a pass from freshman Patrick Roy (North Andover, Mass.).
  • Terrones made it 2-0 just 54 seconds later, assisted by sophomore Matt Antonetti (North Attleboro, Mass.)
  • Bentley's Conor Segreti, who scored three on the day, cut the lead to 2-1.
  • SNHU responded with three quick goals within 41 seconds on goals by Lynch, Auger, and graduate student Tim Krutz (Cheshire, Conn.).
  • The Penmen kept the pressure on and opened the lead to 8-2 when Lynch scored for the third time in the first quarter at 11:34.
  • Bentley dominated the second quarter, closing the gap to 11-9 by halftime.
  • Lynch scored unassisted at 6:17 but the Penmen did not score the rest of the quarter.
  • Bentley continued a run of seven consecutive goals to open the second half. 
  • Will Adams, who scored four on the day (adding four assists), gave the Falcons the lead for the first time at 12-11 at 3:49 of the third quarter.
  • Lynch and Terrones would score for the Penmen, but SNHU trailed 15-13 after three.
  • Auger and Terrones scored back-to-back early in the fourth quarter to make it 16-15, but the Falcons scored the game's final three goals.
  • Nicholas Thorn-Guillaro tallied twice off passes from Adams in the closing minutes and finished the game with five goals.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Each team had 47 shots on the day and 16 turnovers.
  • SNHU had a 32-30 edge on ground balls and won 21 of the 37 face-offs.
  • Bentley was 18-for-20 on its clears and SNHU was 11-for-14.
  • The Falcons went 1-for-8 in extra-man opportunities while the Penmen were 1-for-6.
  • The Penmen had 23 turnovers while Pace had 18.
NOTES
  • Bentley leads the all-time series 29-4 which includes wins in five straight.
  • Five goals and six points were career-highs for Lynch.  His 25 goals lead the Penmen.
  • This was the fifth time this season Auger has scored at least three goals, and his 45 points (22 goals, 23 assists) lead the Penmen.
  • Junior Patrick Cassidy (Chelmsford, Mass.) saw action for the second time this season making four saves in relief of senior Ronan DePaul (Elkton, Md.).  DePaul made 12 saves.
  • SNHU recognized 19 seniors and graduate students before the game.

  • The Penmen will be back in action next Saturday, April 20 (Noon) at Franklin Pierce University.
  • The regular season concludes at home against Adelphi University on Tuesday, April 23 (3:00 p.m.).
