Female Athlete of the Week: Julianna Colbert - Softball - Fr., P
Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week earlier Monday after going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.56 WHIP in a pair of appearances during a 2-2 week for softball. She allowed just a single unearned run on four hits, while striking out seven and walking two, over 10-and-two-thirds innings. Colbert fired a complete-game, three-hitter in a 2-1 win in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Adelphi. She also earned the win in a 2-1, game-two victory over Pace on Saturday, as she came on in relief to toss three-and-two-thirds innings of one-hit, shutout ball with four strikeouts.Â
Male Athlete of the Week: Jorge Burgos - Baseball - Sr., 2BÂ
Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) put together an absurd week at the plate for baseball, as the Penmen went 4-0. Burgos hit .632 (12-19) with three home runs, 12 RBI and six runs scored. Burgos, who slashed a ridiculous .696/1.316/2.012, had seven of his 12 hits go for extra bases, while he also drew four walks and swiped three bags. He had three or more hits in three of the four games, including Sunday's 16-2 win over Saint Michael's College when he went 5-for-6 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. In Saturday's doubleheader sweep of the Purple Knights, he finished 6-for-9 with two home runs, eight RBI, four runs scored and three walks, as he homered in each game – tying the program's single-season record in the opener, before establishing a new mark with his 15th long-ball of the year in game two. The 15 home runs are the most in the NE10 since 2019. Burgos was named the NE10 Player of the Week earlier Monday.

Notes:
- Baseball went 4-0 last week on the strength of an offensive explosion, beginning with a 17-2 road win at Saint Anselm College on Friday. The Penmen swept a doubleheader from Saint Michael's College on Saturday with 16-6 and 22-3 victories, before completing the sweep of the Purple Knights Sunday with a 16-2 triumph. The 71 runs are the most in a four-game span for SNHU since it put up 74 April 16-19, 2015, and the 54 runs against Saint Michael's were the most in a three-game series since April 18-19, 2015 when the Penmen posted 60 runs in a sweep at Assumption University.

- Freshman Nater Wachter (Concord, N.H.) went 8-for-16 (.500) with a home run, 15 RBI and six runs scored. Wachter also doubled three times, tripled and drew five walks, as he put together a slash line of .583/1.000/1.583. He had multiple hits in three of the four games and collected at least four RBI in three of the four contests. He went 3-for-5 with a home run, five RBI, three runs scored, two doubles and a walk in a 22-3 win in game two of Saturday's doubleheader with Saint Michael's, and then finished 2-for-4 with five more RBI and a run scored Sunday. He was chosen as the NE10 Rookie of the Week for the second time this season earlier Monday.
- Junior Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) was 9-for-17 (.529) with two home runs, 10 RBI, 11 runs and six walks, while lashing .652/.941/1.593. Vargas Segura also went 8-for-10 stealing bases.
- Sophomore Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) also hit better than .500, going 10-for-19 (.526) with six RBI, 10 runs and five walks. He slashed .625/.684/1.309.
- Senior Dylan O'Sullivan (Manchester, N.H.) hit a pair of two-run homers in Saturday's opener.
- Sophomore Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.) received a no-decision in game two against Adelphi, despite firing three-and-two-thirds shutout innings, giving up five hits and walking three.
- Senior Griffin Gilbert (Concord, N.H.) produced a 3.68 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 7.1 innings during a pair of relief appearances. SNHU went 1-1 in the two games, as Gilbert allowed three runs on four hits, while striking out eight and walking four.
- Freshman Jack Davis (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) ate up four innings in relief in the first game against Pace, allowing just one run on three hits, while striking out four and walking a pair.
- Sophomore Austin Trumpour (Jensen Beach, Fla.) went 1-0 over two appearances. Trumpour fired six innings, allowing just one unearned run and three hits, while striking out six and not walking a batter, as he posted a 0.50 WHIP. Trumpour started Friday's win at Saint Anselm and gave up a hit in a scoreless inning of work. He then came on in relief in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader with Saint Michael's, tossing five innings, relinquishing one unearned run on a pair of hits, while punching out six, to earn the W.
- Sophomore Parker Lendrum (Exeter, N.H.) earned the victory in game one of Saturday's twin bill, giving up three runs – two earned – on four hits, while striking out six and not walking a batter over seven innings.
- Sophomore Jake Risedorf (Barkhamsted, Conn.) tossed three-and-two-thirds hitless innings in relief, fanning five and walking only one, to collect Sunday's win.
- Freshman Jack Davis (LaGrangeville, N.Y.) picked up his first career win Friday, pitching five innings in relief, allowing two runs on four hits, while fanning three and walking a pair.

- Softball split a pair of doubleheaders against the NE10's top two teams to secure the No. 4 seed and a first round bye in the NE10 Championship. The Penmen saw Adelphi University rally for a 3-2 win in game one Friday, before bouncing back with their own rally in a 2-1 victory in game two. SNHU then dropped a 4-1 decision to Pace in the opener Saturday and fought back for another 2-1 win in the second game. The Penmen will open postseason play Thursday against the winner of fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce University and eighth-seeded Southern Connecticut State University.
- DiMauro batted .400 (4-10) with a pair of runs and drew two walks, while slashing .500/.500/1.000. She went 2-for-3 and scored a run in the loss to Adelphi and then went 1-for-1 with a walk and a run in the win over Pace.
- Sophomore Peyton Feldman (Foxborough, Mass.) was 3-for-10 (.300) at the plate with two runs scored and three walks, as she was on base at a .462 clip. She was 1-for-3 and scored a run in the victory over Adelphi and then went 1-for-1 with a pair of walks and a run scored in the Pace win.
- Senior Ari Ferrier (Middleboro, Mass.) hit a two-run homer to give SNHU a 2-0 lead in game one against Adelphi.
- Freshman Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) was named the NE10 Rookie of the Week earlier Monday after going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 0.56 WHIP in a pair of appearances. She allowed just a single unearned run on four hits, while striking out seven and walking two, over 10-and-two-thirds innings. Colbert fired a complete-game, three-hitter in the second game against Adelphi.
- Senior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) submitted a 1.91 ERA in a pair of starts, as she gave up five runs – three earned – on nine hits, while punching out seven and walking five, in 11 innings. McKechnie was the tough-luck loser in the opener against the Panthers, as she relinquished three runs – one earned – on five hits in a complete-game effort.

- Women's lacrosse went 1-1 last week, rolling to a 21-8 victory at the College of Saint Rose on Wednesday, before battling to a 21-15 loss at third-ranked Adelphi University on Saturday.
- Graduate student Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) scored 10 times and dished three assists for 13 points. She tallied four goals and an assist at Saint Rose, before matching her season highs in points (8) and goals (6) versus Adelphi.
- Senior Shelby Cole (Gilford, N.H.) registered 12 points on six goals and six assists, while gathering three ground balls. Cole erupted for a season-high nine points on five goals and a season-best four assists against Saint Rose and then added a goal, two assists and three ground balls versus Adelphi.
- Graduate student Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) racked up 11 points on seven goals and four assists, while adding 12 draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers. She scored four times against the Golden Knights, before adding three goals, four assists and eight draw controls against the Panthers.
- Freshman Delaney Ramalho (Hollis, N.H.) caused three turnovers and collected five ground balls, causing a pair of turnovers and scooping up four ground balls against the Panthers.
- Freshman Nicole Mirra (Cicero, N.Y.) made 15 saves on 41 shots in a pair of starts. She stopped three of the eight shots she faced in the initial 47:20 at Saint Rose and then matched her career high with 12 saves at Adelphi.

- Women's track & field competed at the no-team-scoring UNH Pre-Conference Invitational on Saturday.
- Senior Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.) won the 400m in 57.15 seconds and finished eighth in the long jump at 5.52m, the best jump recorded by an SNHU athlete this season.
- Senior Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) finished eighth in the shot put with a season-best throw of 11.89m.
- Sophomore Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) ran a spectacular 200m, finishing third in a new PR (26.45).
- Sophomore Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) turned in a personal best in the 800m at 2:25.59 while finishing 13th overall.Â
- Senior Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.) had a career-best throw in the shot put (10.26m).
- Sophomore Brooke Bibbo (Burlington, Mass.) improved her best hammer throw to 32.48m

- Men's tennis posted a 5-2 win against Assumption University in its lone match of the week Saturday. The victory earned SNHU a share of the NE10 Regular-Season Championship and the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NE10 Championship, which the Penmen will host Thursday and Friday.
- Junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) went 2-0, clinching the match with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Adrian Toderascu at No. 3 singles. He also clinched the doubles point with senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), posting a 6-1 win at No. 1 against Yannick Heitzberg and Jakob Bordt.

- Men's golf placed 14th at the Atlantic/East Regional Preview on Monday and Tuesday at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va. The Penmen collected their 13th NCAA postseason berth Friday and will compete at the Atlantic/East Regional Championship back at Oglebay on May 9-11.
- Senior Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) carded a 74 in the final round, after opening with a 75, to finish eighth with a 149.

Women's Soccer (10-5-5, 5-2-4Â NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer finished 10-5-5, including 5-2-4 in the NE10, as they earned the No. 3 seed for the NE10 Championship and advanced to the semifinal round, before suffering a 1-0 loss to second-seeded Adelphi University.
- SNHU earned its ninth NCAA Championship berth, including its sixth straight, collecting the No. 5 seed in the East Region. The Penmen were victorious in their first-round matchup with fourth-seeded Roberts Wesleyan University (2-0), eventually seeing their season draw to a close with a 2-0 second-round loss to the top-ranked College of Saint Rose.
- Sophomore Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) were selected to the NE10 All-Conference First Team. Senior Kassidy Michael (Manheim, Pa.) collected a Second Team honor, while graduate student Victoria Roulston (E. Falmouth, Mass.) was named to the Third Team. Freshman Liv Gantelius (Lidingoe, Sweden) claimed an All-Rookie Team.
Men's Soccer (10-6-4, 4-5-1Â NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer closed its season with a 10-6-4 mark, including 4-5-1 in the NE10. The team, which began the season with a six-match unbeaten streak (4-0-2), became just the second No. 7 seed in the history of the NE10 Championship to reach the title match, falling to top-ranked Franklin Pierce University on penalty kicks, 6-5, after battling to a 1-1 draw.
- SNHU secured its 23rd NCAA tournament berth and first since 2016, earning the No. 9 seed in Super Region 1, but fell to eighth-seeded Bloomsburg University, 2-1, in the opening round.
- Sophomore Iago Perez (Oleiros, Spain), senior Nicolas Gonzalez (Santander, Spain) and junior Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) all earned NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors. Graduate student Rafa Escobedo (Santander, Spain) collected Third Team recognition, while sophomore Tyler Kraft (Londonderry, N.H.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Women's Volleyball (13-13, 6-5Â NE10)
Notes:
- Women's volleyball finished 13-13, including 6-5 in league play, as they claimed the No. 5 seed and upset fourth-seeded American International College in five sets in the quarterfinals of the NE10 Championship. After dropping another five-set decision in the semifinals at top-seeded Adelphi University, SNHU received its second straight NCAA Championship berth as the No. 6 seed in the East Region and suffered yet another five-set defeat to third-seeded Bentley University in the quarterfinals.
- Redshirt-senior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) became the first student-athlete in program history to earn All-America, All-Region and All-Conference First Team. Pimenta was chosen as an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, AVCA East All-Region First Team and NE10 All-Conference First Team.
Field Hockey (10-8, 9-4Â NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey shook off a 1-3 start to win nine of its next 14 contests to end the regular season and earn the No. 5 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen wound up suffering a 1-0 defeat at fourth-seeded Pace University in the quarterfinal round.
- The Penmen posted a signature win at home Oct. 4, defeating fifth-ranked Saint Anselm College, 4-1, for the first win over the Hawks in program history. SNHU had lost 16 straight to its cross-town rival.
- Freshman Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year and landed a spot on the All-Conference First Team, setting a new program mark for goals by a first-year player with 14, which led the team.
- van de Poll was joined on the First Team by junior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands). Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Velhoven, Netherlands) earned Second Team honors, junior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) claimed a Third Team accolade and freshman Jade Hendriks (Huissen, The Netherlands) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Cross Country
Notes:
- Women's cross country put together another stellar season, as it finished by qualifying for the NCAA National Championship for the third time in program history. The team placed fourth at the NE10 Championship, with seniorÂ
Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) slotting in fourth to earn NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. SophomoreÂ
Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) and seniorÂ
Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) collected Second Team recognition. The team finished third at the NCAA East Regional Championship, punching its ticket to Nationals for the second consecutive season. Seamans was eighth, overall. The Penmen finished in 33rd place in Joplin, Mo.
- The men were sixth at the NE10 Championship, with juniorÂ
Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) earning Second-Team All-Conference with a 12th-place run. The team was also seventh at the NCAA East Regional Championship, as Sylvester posted a new personal best to finish 13th.
Women's Basketball (17-11, 15-7 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's basketball won 17 of its first 22 games, earning the No. 4 seed in the NE10 Championship, before falling at home to fifth-seeded Franklin Pierce in the quarterfinal round.
- SNHU claimed its third straight NCAA Championship berth, garnering the No. 5-seed. It met 30-1 Thomas Jefferson University and fell, 91-89, in overtime.
- Graduate student Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) was crowned a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Coaches' All-American. After earning Honorable Mention last season, she is the first two-time All-American in program history and the first to make the 10-member Coaches' team since 1990. Timberlake, who started all 28 games this season, tallying 18.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.8 steals per contest, while shooting 41.7 percent (183-439) from the field, 31.6 percent (54-171) from long range and 73.1 percent (95-130) at the stripe, was also a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team selection, the NE10 Player of the Year and an NE10 All-Conference First Teamer for the second consecutive season.
- Senior Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) captured NE10 Second Team accolades and freshman Abby Wager (Mansfield, Mass.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.Â
Men's Basketball (24-11, 13-9 NE10)
Notes:
- Men's basketball put together its best season in nearly a decade, finishing with 24 wins for the first time since 2014-15. The Penmen finished a the fifth seed in the NE10, but captured their third NE10 title and first since 2016. SNHU kept it rolling, capturing its eighth NCAA regional crown and first since 2015 to reach the Elite Eight. That victory extended the Penmen win streak to 10 and gave them seven consecutive postseason wins for the first time in program history.
- SNHU, the seventh seed in Evansville, Ind., held a 17-point lead early in the second half, but second-seeded and top-ranked Nova Southeastern University chipped away and eventually secured a 68-60 victory in the NCAA Championship National Quarterfinals.
- Graduate student Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) collected National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) East All-District First Team, Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team, NE10 All-Conference First Team, College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team and NE10 Academic All-Conference honors this season. He started all 35 games, netting 16.4 points on 43.7 percent (179-410) shooting from the field, including 44.8 percent (129-288) from behind the arc, and 89.7 percent (87-97) from the stripe. Becht, who was named the NCAA East Regional Championship and NE10 Championship Most Outstanding Player, led the nation in 3-pointers made and ranked eighth in 3-point field goal percentage.
- Junior Derrick Grant Jr. (Plainfield, N.J.) received an NE10 All-Defensive Team nod. He averaged 1.1 blocks per game, while posting career highs in scoring (10.4) and rebounding (6.0).
Men's Ice Hockey (14-14-2, 10-9-1 NE10)
Notes:
- SNHU ice hockey advanced to the Northeast-10 Championship game and suffered a heartbreaking, 3-2 loss in double-overtime at Assumption University.
- The Penmen finished third in the conference and recorded playoff wins over No. 6 seed Post University (4-1) in the first round and at second-seeded Saint Michael's College (5-1) in the semifinals.
- Sophomore Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ontario) led the Penmen in scoring with eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points this season.Â
- Sophomore Kurt Watson (London, Ontario) finished as the team's top goal scorer with 13.
- Senior Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.) had 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points.
- Freshman Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) was named to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team. He played in 15 games for the Penmen, including starts in both playoff wins over Post and Saint Michael's. Berke made a school record 72 saves in the NE10 Championship game.
