The Southern New Hampshire University softball team rallied for a 7-6 win in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader with Franklin Pierce, then completed the sweep with a 1-0 win in the second game.

GAME 1: SNHU 7-6
- The Ravens opened the scoring in the top of the first inning. Haley Bigwood doubled and scored on a single by Bella Williams.
- Franklin Pierce made it 2-0 in the top of the third inning. A two-out single by Williams was followed by a triple to left field by Ashley Cangiano.
- SNHU scored five times in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. A misplayed fly ball led to the first two runs. Ferrier's three-run triple put the Penmen in front.
- The Ravens bounced right back with four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 6-5 lead.
- A two-out single by senior Bella Dickinson (Scarborough, Maine) and Lineman reached on an error in the bottom of the fifth. Gifford doubled down the right-field line as Dickinson and Lineman scored to make it 7-6.
- Senior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) struck out eight in her five innings in the circle, improving to 4-4.
- Senior Sabrina Gonzalez took the loss for Franklin Pierce.
GAME 2: SNHU 1-0
- Colbert improved to 3-1 with her complete-game shutout.
- The only run of the game crossed in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Junior Mackenzie Bruggeman (Trumbull, Conn.) walked to start the frame and freshman Grace Jenkins (Groton, Conn.) came on to run.
- Donovan bunted Jenkins to second and she moved to third on a groundout by Ferrier.
- Sophomore Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.) reached on an error that allowed the run to score.
- The Ravens threatened in the top of the sixth when Jenna Murray led off with a double, but Colbert set down the side after that.
NOTES:
- The games were moved to Franklin Pierce because of field conditions. SNHU played as the "home" team.
- Franklin Pierce outhit the Penmen 12-to-9 for the doubleheader, but four Raven errors led to all eight runs on the day scoring as unearned.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Franklin Pierce 64-34. The Ravens had won four of the last five heading into action on Sunday.
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen return to action on Tuesday (April 9) with a doubleheader at Saint Anselm College.
- The next home game will be Wednesday (April 10) against Queens College. The doubleheader starts at 2:30 p.m.
