SNHU softball used a 12-hit attack to defeat Saint Anselm College 5-4 and earn a split of Tuesday's Northeast-10 doubleheader. The Hawks won the opener 5-1.

GAME 1: SAINT ANSELM 5-1
- A two-run double by Alyssa Wiron gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
- Saint Anselm extended the lead to 5-0 with a pair of runs in the third and a home run by Rose Reitmey in the sixth.
- The Penmen scored once in the top of the seventh inning on a single by Gifford and a double by Bruggeman.
- Senior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) worked the first five innings, allowing three earned runs. She fell to 4-5 with the loss.
- Saint Anselm's Haile Hicks went the distance in the circle to improve to 9-4.
GAME 2: SNHU 5-4
- The Penmen took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Senior Ari Ferrier (Middleboro, Mass.) walked and Feldman delivered a bunt single. Resetar singled to drive in the run.
- In the top of the fourth, the Penmen added a run on a single by Ferrier and a misplay.
- Lineman drove in a run with a double in the top of the fifth, and Bruggeman added an RBI with a single for a 4-0 lead.
- The Hawks came back with a pair in the bottom of the fifth.
- SNHU scored again in the top of the sixth inning.
- Ferrier singled, advanced on a Feldman bunt, and scored on a single by Resetar to make it 5-2.
- The Hawks made it close with a two-run homer by Reitmey in the bottom of the seventh.
- Colbert earned the win for the Penmen, working four scoreless innings before giving way to the bullpen.
NOTES:
- Colbert extended her scoreless innings streak to 16. On Monday, she was named Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week after a complete-game, three-hit shutout of Franklin Pierce in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.
- Each team earns a point in the Queen City Cup which SNHU leads.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Saint Anselm 50-49. The teams have split the last six meetings.
