Freshman Eyglo Armannsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) dropped just one game in her No. 5 singles win that clinched a 6-1 victory for the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team over Saint Michael's College on Saturday at the Saint Michael's Tennis Courts.
KEY MOMENT
- SNHU held a 3-1 lead, but had two of the three remaining singles matches in a third set, when Armannsdottir breezed to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles against Annabelle Aldrete.
NOTES
- SNHU has now won two straight.
- Sophomore Lois Tsui (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and junior Nadya Lyekontseva (Kyiv, Ukraine) improve to 4-1 in singles action this season.
- The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Michael's, 22-8, and have now won 21 of the last 22 meetings, including 14 straight. SNHU has also won seven-in-a-row on the road against the Purple Knights. The last SMC win in the series came April 13, 2014 in a 5-4 home victory.
