Freshman Jayden Chapman (Carthage, N.Y.) piled up a career-high 14 kills on .370 hitting, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team fell in four sets to Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday night at the Stan Spirou Field House.
KEY MOMENT
- The Penmen were a point away from losing, as they trailed, 24-21, in the third set, but a 5-0 run – bookended by Chapman kills – brought the hosts all the way back and forced a fourth frame.
NOTES
- Chapman added a career-best seven digs.
- Freshman Sophie Chevalier (Charlton, N.Y.) posted nine kills, seven digs and a pair of service aces.
- Graduate student Ariana Davila (Austin, Texas) dished a career-high 34 assists to go with eight digs.
- Graduate student Meri Ibrahimi (Woburn, Mass.) collected 13 digs.
- The all-time series is now tied, 31-31. The teams have split the last 14 meetings, though Franklin Pierce has now captured three of four, including two straight after also posting a 3-1 victory at home Sept. 30. The Ravens have now won two-in-a-row at the Field House, with SNHU's last victory there coming Oct. 21, 2023 (3-0).
