Junior Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) only lost one game in her singles victory at the top flight to help lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team to a 6-1 triumph over Bentley University on Saturday afternoon at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
KEY MOMENT
- Coming off a win of the doubles point, Abadzic gave the Penmen a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 defeat of Catalina Borrero at No. 1 singles.
NOTES
- SNHU has now won four straight.
- Abadzic also teamed with sophomore Lois Tsui (Amsterdam, Netherlands) at No. 1 doubles to edge Borrero and Natalia Ponsa, 7-6 (7-5).
- Junior Nadya Lyekontseva (Kyiv, Ukraine) improved to 6-1 in singles action this season by pulling out a 6-2, 5-7, 10-5 win against Isabella Kaldy at No. 4 singles.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Bentley, 20-9, and extends its winning streak to 19, including a 6-1 home win earlier this season on Sept. 13. The last time the Falcons topped the Penmen was April 23, 2009 (5-3) at home. SNHU has also won 10 straight at home in the series.
