Freshman Lucia Dusseljee (Helmond, Netherlands) pulled out a three-set victory at No. 6 singles to lift the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team to a 4-3 triumph over Providence College at Tennis Rhode Island, West Bay on Saturday.
KEY MOMENTS
- With their backs against the wall, trailing 3-1, the Penmen fought back when sophomore Lois Tsui (Amsterdam, Netherlands) scored a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Flora Eidson.
- Junior Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) then edged Camila Barrera, 7-5, 6-4, at the top flight to pull even.
- Dusseljee gave the Penmen the win with a 4-6, 7-4, 6-0 victory against Lauren Krise at No. 6.
NOTES
- SNHU has now won five straight.
- Abadzic and Tsui also teamed at No. 1 doubles to defeat Allison Root and Eidson, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point.
- Dusseljee and freshman Eyglo Armannsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) doubled up Sophie Ahlberg and Erika Beltran, 6-3, at No. 3 doubles.
- SNHU wins the first meeting between the two programs. The Penmen fell to the University of Connecticut, 6-1, in their only other meeting with a BIG EAST program April 10, 2013.

- The Penmen are back in action Sunday, March 1 (9 a.m.) when they open their trip to Orlando, Fla., against Davenport University.
